I know we've talked about ClassicLady here before, but I don't remember if we talked about her casually racist rant about The Defiant Ones:
"I have had my [fill] of movies with Sidney Poitier claiming how he wants to be treated like a man and not a black man. I know it was needed at the time the movies were made but now it just seems like so much nagging preaching. Yes, Poitier is a great actor. Yes, he is a great gentleman. But I just can't watch his movies anymore. By the way, Tony Curtis was in this movie, too. He's a white guy who just happened to be a great actor, too."
I'm just... I can't even... How do you...?

It looks like they were just trying to promote their blog by publishing a couple of their reviews, and Robot Monster just happened to be one of them.joachimt on Dec 25 2015, 02:51:06 AM wrote:Someone created an account on ICM for the sole purpose of promoting Robot Monster!!![]()
Not really. The creatures in Robot Monster are called "Ro-man", which he named himself after. His avatar is the monster from that movie. And yes, he commented on a few other crappy sci-fi movies as well.PeacefulAnarchy on Dec 25 2015, 10:16:29 AM wrote:It looks like they were just trying to promote their blog by publishing a couple of their reviews, and Robot Monster just happened to be one of them.joachimt on Dec 25 2015, 02:51:06 AM wrote:Someone created an account on ICM for the sole purpose of promoting Robot Monster!!![]()

Fair enough, I'd never even heard of Robot Monster before and it's not that positive a review anyway.
It's an official check. That's the only positive thing about it.PeacefulAnarchy on Dec 25 2015, 11:11:56 AM wrote:Fair enough, I'd never even heard of Robot Monster before and it's not that positive a review anyway.

Meh, I much prefer the seventh entry of the "Seals" series. Giving each one to a different director was a bold choice, but Bergman really knew how to end the saga.

I like the concept of an ICM account for a kid. I wish I knew all the movies I saw till say age 11 or so.

I agree. I would definitely enjoy pondering about which ones I remembered and which ones I liked. I would also like to research them. Damn! I will definitely do that when I have kid! Hopefully the ICM beta won't be a beta anymore by that time.Kasparius on Dec 27 2015, 03:39:14 PM wrote:I like the concept of an ICM account for a kid. On David Lynch's The Amputee:
Don't watch this morbous short.. is nonsense.
If you're so crazy to do it, hear you have it:

But I repeat, if you love yourselves don't go ahead..

Without giving away spoilers, at somthing point in the film, without saying when:
I'm a 29 male tears were coming down my face, my lip was quivering and thought I was about to lose it, my girlfriend comforted me well!
It may be old but it is great, to contact someone she rights a letter....texting/SMS with a phone wouldn't have the same impact.

I like the progression of this guy's comments over time; his earliest ones are pretty standard, brief thoughts on the film in question and gradually his comments become weirder and weirder as he develops this "character".

I've just finished Deep End, and the last sentence of this comment from IMDb will probably become one of my all-time favorites. I don't know why but it really cracked me up:
An actual spoiler for Deep End
"I just knew it would end tragically though just because so many films of that era do. Someone always dies in the end. I wish it could have ended with the characters reaching some sort of understanding without the tragedy."

The film in question? The Exterminating Angel. So these are the kind of movies in ICM Most Favorited list, no wonder you guys hate on the "bad" Indian movies which enter the Top 250

Again, IMDb but what does it mean when a review is full of praise and the current user rating is 1/10?

Couple of questions:
- Who is or was Boulderman?
- What's the story behind the short 'film'?
- Why don't any of the comments have up- or downvotes?

Haha, you missed Boulderman? His comments are great meme material, every single one of them. He somehow managed to get his self-directed short Privacy on IMDb, though it's not really more than a home video, iirc, so without release date etc. The comments under that short are mostly just quotes from some of his more memorable comments.
You should ask Mighty or Adam for all the details. I think he was around in the days of the Facebook group.

Not sure if you’re missing anything. As far as I remember it’s just a pretty silly repeating of a pretty silly comment that accidentally was posted twice by the original poster (sort by posting date and you’ll see what I mean).
