This seems up my alley. If anyone could send me a link, that would be appreciated.

Anyone else think this movie is remarkably similar to L'Atalante?

In love both movies but it struck me when watching Käutner's movie how I felt like I'd seen some of the scenes before.

Good film.
I wasn't a fan of the dog snatching near the end. Plus, this film's view on women is a little too archaic. She's sad because all the women in the park has somebody but she doesn't have someone. Thus, when two guys compete for her at a period of time in which no other men have showed any romantic interest in her, she must fall in love with one of the two guys. All independent women must get with a man that have shown at least a little interest in them. The film also didn't really give a reason for the two men wanting her except that she's a woman and they haven't found any other woman that worked out long term.
Overall, good film. I'll probably put it low on my list but it won't be a personal top favorite of mine.

Saw this a few months ago for the 1940s poll. I quite liked it. It will be on my list this year.

Aside from the barge love story, I didn't find this that similar to L'Atalante, and I liked this one more.

Under the Bridges: 7.8/10
L'Atalante: 7.2/10
