So, this just in: my school press is going to publish my thesis! I'm really happy, as this is my first book published.

Also, I am not sure that the filmed portions with the actresses will make it to the final cut of the documentary (although I'm trying to find a way to see if it will work). Thanks for the patience of everyone who contributed to the final film. If anyone wants to see it in its present state, send me a PM and I can give you a YouTube or WeTransfer link. It's 95% done except for the addition of those segments (which feature actresses portraying Mabel Normand and Lillian Gish).

Thanks for the article! I am familiar with Jane Gaines and Radha Vatsal and it seems like the program at MoMa will be interesting. Even though the site isn't launched yet, there is some information on their site still and I was able to find some information on lesser known women who were directors in the silent period.

Liked the video. It's not really an area I'm interested in, but you manage to make it interesting and involving. I haven't read the entire thesis yet, but the same goes for what I've read so far. I think there's just enough to inform and get you interested without drowning you in too much information.

The narrator had such a nice and clear voice. I like imitating voices, so I started trying to copy it :P

Disappointed that the Gish and Normand bits had to be cut, so looking forward to them if they become available :)

The credits were my favourite part though :whistling:

Thank you for the feedback. I had to cut a lot of info, so of course there is more. I really liked the narrator's voice too. That's why I chose her. ;)

Hope there will be extras to come along and glad you liked the credits! ;)

I've been writing this story and a location came up. I'm thinking about filming it rather quickly, as in two weeks from now. I'm planning on posting the casting notice ASAP and finishing the script within the next couple of days. I'm planning on having about 8-10 characters.

So I've been working on this film project 'round the clock. That is why I haven't been posting much or checking many movies. The Kickstarter is up if anyone wants to check it out: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/Al ... hool-drama

Feel free to ask any questions. My casting director is trying to get a "name" so we'll see what happens. :) :)

Got Irina Gorovaia (Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums) and Flora Cross (Noah Baumbach's Margot at the Wedding) to star in my new project that I'm writing/directing/producing. The project ends in 56 hours.

Thank you to all the forum members who contributed last time or will contribute this time. I think a couple members have pledged their support this time already.

So I do have a new short project called Switched Destinies. Was able to film the Paris footage already. I am going to finish editing the other film (Boarding School) and then Switched Destinies should be done by February/March. It's about a Los Angeles girl that wants to move to Paris and a Parisian girl that wants to move to Los Angeles. The last film had SAG actors and that will be a pain because I can't distribute it online (for the time being). So this short is great, so at least everyone will be able to see it one way or another. It should be about 5 mins. long. Some random stranger contributed today, so that's good.

Wow, thanks! :D

I'm going to do some updates soon. But basically, if I raise the minimum ($300), all that money is going to the actors. If I raise more, it will go for miscellaneous costs incurred. :)

So, there is about 19 hours remaining for the Switched Destinies Kickstarter and we are at 78% of the goal. I recognize some contributors' names from the ICM forum, so thank you!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/Al ... -destinies

The project is a short film taking place in Los Angeles & Paris and we've already shot the Paris footage and it looks great. The goal is $300 and the first $350 raised goes straight to the actors. :)

We filmed most of the L.A. portion of Switched Destinies today. Just have to record 1-2 more scenes and the voiceover and then we're finished. :)

Yay! You should organise a film shoot in June and then I can get an acting credit :whistling:

It was playing at the Music Hall (Laemmle) theater in order to raise funds for their annual March Walk for Genocide. They are hoping to re-release it theatrically (25 years after its original release).
