Abstraction, fluid immanence, fractal structures, indeterminably convoluted topographies; shadows of beings traversing the void, microstructures of flames on reptilian tongues of dragons, echoes of memories and dreams, quiet dismay.
Yeah, I dug it.
It also satisfyingly reminded me of the beginning of the new Twin Peaks's Episode 3.

Yeah, the digital effects aren't too far off from David Lynch's more recent work, including the sfx in the "Twin Peaks" revival. And regardless of the visuals this film also is very much driven by its soundscape. So it seemed like a fitting enough choice today, also because we haven't had any Patrick Bokanowski yet and he can need the promo. I almost picked Nine Inch Nails' "Came Back Haunted" to celebrate the new "Twin Peaks" season because that video showcases that particular camera shake that seems to be Lynch's new favorite camera move, but 1) I don't find that video all that great, 2) we had a Lynch film recently, 3) we already had a few music videos as the SotD recently, 4) the video was already mentioned in the course of the SotD before.

Weird. I watched this just three days ago.
(Lately, I've been plowing through extra-short shorts from ICM's experimental/avant-garde poll.)
