Yeah, I can see you don't like his voice. It's not what I prefer in 16 HP, anyhow. I love the way their music has a layered texture, with multiple instruments creating an upbeat, vivacious rhythm.
By the way, Arthur, which bands would you say can best be compared to 16 HP? I remember looking for similar music a few years ago, but not being able to find it. I'd love recommendations.

I'm not that well-versed in gothic country but here's a few that I know.
After 16 Horsepower split the vocalist made another band called Wovenhand. Weird fact: They opened for Tool once.
There's also Jay Munly who looks like a skeleton o.o
I remember finding a random release of some really obscure guy, and I think the album is for free. It's a reconstruction of gothic country though. The Mountain Apple Epidemic

Reminds me of work today. While I was in the pasta station covering a break the guy that I was covering decided to make his lunch with the 3rd stove. Spotify just started a couple of weeks ago to work in Greece so I tried it. Great stuff! So I decided to use last.fm as well. Why wasn't I using it all this time? Great recommendations! I'm jealous now that you guys have been using it for so long and have scrobbled so many songs...

I don't find Spotify useful for much except listening to albums without downloading them, but Lastfm is great. I've found so many new artists and songs because of that. And scrobbling gives you all kinds of awesome stats

The thing about The Shaggs is that it is awful music, but somehow at the same time it's like they almost created no wave music. It seems like even most experimental music fans hate them though.

Yea Death Grips recently beat Rome for me which was my #2 for ages. There's no way any artist will beat Kate Bush though. Lil B has tons but that's only because he releases like 3 albums a week. Grimes being 5th is surprising because it's mostly just Halfaxa. I did blast Visions for a bit but the more I think about it the less I like it. Too inspired by that cutesy k-pop bullshit which I REALLY don't get why quite a few, especially experimental music fans like.
