I think I prefer listening to my stupid children's song than to that horrible 90's crap.

It certainly didn't age well
Also destroyed an entire genre of music, though what rose from its ashes was a lot better than what we had before. Ah well, memories!

This is a track from the first album by one of my favorite groups. Secret Society is an 18-piece big band led by this eccentric Canadian named Darcy James Argue. I first saw them play at the Bowery Poetry Club about 12 years ago. Darcy usually introduces his songs with some slightly odd explanation. He explained that this song is about Phobos, one of the moons of Mars, and how in about 50 million years it will either disintegrate into a planetary ring or crash into Mars' surface.

Difficult to choose which Learning to Fly I prefer, Pink Floyd's or Tom Petty's. Probably Floyd.

Dang, the only thing that came to mind for the last prompt was D'Angelo's Back to the Future, which is about the past, and the only one that comes to mind for this one is Flyin' High in the Friendly Sky, which isn't about flying or airplanes.

Cause Every Dog Has Its Day
Like every woman, she gets her own way
And if there's a ship that sails tonight
I'll captain that too, just to be there with you

The Isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful places I've been. And it turns out someone wrote a very nice song about getting there by boat.

A haunting track. Also a lot of history there (it was used as the intro of an infamous radio show back in the 90s). Extremely trainy.
