Osamu Dezaki was another legendary anime veteran from Tezuka’s Mushi Production (a set including Yoshiyuki Tomino, Rintaro, Yoshiaki Kawajiri etc). He created and/or directed many legendary series, including some of the most influential of the mediums history. He was also a cofounder of Madhouse.
What have you seen from Dezaki? Are you a fan? Which works do you like most?

I don't have TV and am not into anime all that much, but I have seen Rose of Versailles - and enjoyed it, though I could have done without the introductions which took up about 1/4 of each episode.

Perhaps you should join the "My (late) introduction to anime" thread.

I've only seen The Rose of Versailles and I liked it. A few others are on my watchlist but I haven't gotten around to them yet. Takarajima will probably be the next one that I watch.

Takarajima is great, maybe even my favourite. You should prioritise Ashita no Joe though, it’s often regarded as a “top ten” anime by people in the industry and is certainly one of the most influential and important shows.
