I couldn't guess as bit of everything so far, eclectic and lots new stuff for me to hear so look forward to it.

Listened to and loved these...
Leonard Cohen, Chet Baker, Boards of Canada, Lynch & Splet, Aphex Twin, Talking Heads, Bill Evans, Corona, Equinox, Bohren and der Club of Gore...

"Alison" by Slowdive and "Cherry Coloured Funk" by Cocteau Twins (l) (l) (l)

The top 15 spots are obviously all saved for Bjork. :P

Hehe but seriously, I will be curious to see - a great, eclectic mix so far. Quite a few songs that were prominently featured in films, that's cool. "Mystery of Love" from Call Me By Your Name is a good one though Sufjan's other big one in that film, "Visions of Gideon", ended up growing on me more.

I might get shit for saying this. I love Bjork, but I actually prefer Arca's (one of Bjork's producers) art pop album.

Thanks everyone  Let's continue this then.

The next two were pretty difficult picks since from both artists I vastly prefer the albums Halfaxa and Low respectively, but they're also just the type of albums where it's impossible to choose one representative track from. So I went for these two songs instead:

#14 Grimes - Vanessa

#13 David Bowie - I’m Deranged

I do wonder if The Caretaker's Everywhere at the End of Time will be here considering Carmel's praise for it (I think it's greatest album ever made).

I imagine it's hard to find a track that represents it though, but perhaps these two:

Ooh, “Running Up That Hill” is another great pick. Have you heard the Chromatics’ cover? It’s no Kate Bush obviously, but I kinda like it.

This was probably the hardest choice I’d say, as I love all of Death Grips songs. Chose this one since the lyrics are likely Stefan’s most personal (it’s the only time he used his own name) and they’ve never played it live.

#3 Death Grips - On GP

Experimental Hip Hop, Noise Rock

Yeah I have, it's a lovely cover, so much more mellow*.

*which means it's a bit less passionate than the original, but that's okay

Yeah, I mentioned 'Everywhere at the End of Time' in the OP, it's just impossible for me to choose one of The Caretaker's tracks, I consider it one whole masterpiece. I'm glad you took the initiative to post some though, he certainly deserves another mention, so thanks.

Fitting song/song title for the end of your countdown, hehe. I never fully warmed to the Doors, myself. Thanks for posting all of this, though! I could maybe do an albums list like this, but I don't think there's any way I could narrow down a favorite songs list in this manner.

And even more fittingly: the last line of 'The Glow Pt. 2' is "there's no end", which I didn't even intend, but the antinomy works quite well, I think. Thanks for following:)

Finished it!

lots of perplexing choices such as all the samey black metal mixed in with the classics even towards the upper end. loved these apart from some usual suspects:
Slaves - Feed the Mantaray
Patrick Cowley - Tech-No-Logical World
Turquoise Days - Grey Skies
Wild Planet - Electron
I Hate Models - Daydream
Venetian Snares (already on my wide radar)
Aquarian Dream - You're a Star
Origin Unknown - Valley of the Shadows (you've already posted the awesome track before - this is probably in my top 1000)
Ashbury Heights - Eternity at an End
Amo Bishop Roden is very good, yes! totally lost it.
#61! That's like my #15~
#39 was in my top 3
Christoph de Babalon - does he have only one album of merit?
#1 was not on my list, but probably would have been in a top 1000
