Not sure how to kick this off. Maybe top 5 film composers? For a long time I'd watch films just because it had a decent score.

Jerry Goldsmith
Bernard Herrman
Ennio Morricone
Stanley Myers
Vangelis

We conducted a film composers poll last year, maybe you'll find it interesting.

Defintiely interesting. It's comprehensive  and a great list too! I've never been that good at doing lists like that but am a film score fanatic, especially synth and electronic scores!

I was going to Roy Budd is missing but he's on the additional list.

Others I didn't see; (might have missed them

Alex North
Jan Hammer
James Newtown Howard
Mark Isham
Thomas Newman
Sylvester Levay
Alan Silvestri

Great to see Moroder, Tangerine Dream, Harold Faltemeyer, and Vangelis there!

Oh and no Stanley Myers! I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen a film and thought who's the composers and it's Myers!

Think he could easily rival Zimmer or Barry!

Any film scores from the last two decades caught peoples attention? 70s, 80s and 90s are generally where I check most. I don't see too many new films.

Haven't seen it yet but apparently MANDY is good?

Insanely good. The score is the best composite of dark ambient, horror synth, and doom metal.

Watch the film first though.

I've been meaning to see it for a while! Talking of horror synth - Michael Hoenig - for Tangerine Dream fans!
