Ever get the feeling you're going to be the guy in the old peoples home still blasting Hot on the Heel of Love or Shari Vari?

I'm not sure if this counts but this album is the techno I'm blasting quite a bit these days.

Good to see so many fans of this genre here! It's one of my favourite genres by far!
A couple of great sets I listened to recently online -
Surgeon Boiler room in Porto, Portugal. I've seen Surgeon so many times, more than any other DJ as I grew up in his hometown where he had a residency. He doesn't play as dark as usual in this one, you can tell he's trying to play to the crowd, and actually sounds slightly off key sometimes (adds to the unplanned feel of it) and nice to hear a slightly different selection.
The other being Carl Cox b2b Adam Beyer @ Junction 2. Two different DJs playing off each other like that is a joy to watch I think! And it has a brilliant track on Beyer's DrumCode label that I've heard a bit recently that sampled Damo Suzuki in Vitamin C.
Keep the tracks/whatever coming. Will give me some late night listening tonight!

Great choices. I can play detroit techno all night.
I've seen people literally in tears on the dancefloor to this. Always love it on a night drive.

Deep UK 90s Techno, and aptly named I think.

Because it's Sunday, a couple of nice Never on Sunday (Octave One) detroit tracks.
The first being from a banging EP on 430 West.

Yep, although I prefer hard techno/schranz mostly in set form. It's a little too straightforward/soft to appreciate in track form. Good stuff though.

I don't know that much about hard techno but this is one of the hardest acid techno tracks I know!
Just listening to Miss Djax at Love Parade 1997 at the moment too. Her label was always wicked. Any good hard techno (or other) sets? Best hard techno DJs?

I prefer deep house and deconstructed club over techno but this was a good hardcore techno DJ set.PirateJenny wrote: ↑April 13th, 2019, 7:48 pm Any good hard techno (or other) sets? Best hard techno DJs?
I don't know if this counts, but the industrial hip hop group Death Grips did an EP with elements of gabber, such as this track.

More my usual kind of thing. UK and Detroit styled techno.
Mark Broom going detroit minimal style on one of my favourite labels iFach.
Luke Slater at his most banging on another British label Peacefrog.

The bird samples are wicked. Reminds me of the 'Loon' sample used in Sueno Latino. I hear it pop up in film soundtracks now and again too and my eyes always light up when I hear it. Would love to know where that one came from as probably a rompler disk!XxXApathy420XxX wrote: ↑April 13th, 2019, 8:10 pm I can start posting some house. Looking at the tracklist for the Jeff Mills set and so many great tracks. If you like that here's 10 year of B'ham techno.
Although, might just be me but it's a bit samey compared to Surgeon mixing it up like a usual set.

Flieg mit Ellen Allien is a fantastic DJ Mix that I've just found out about. The first track, although good synthpop, is by far the weakest. After that it's heaven.
There is the playlist here, but the 9th song is blocked from my country so I dunno how it is for other countries.

This was probably my favourite one in the mix

Not techno but another awesome DJ Mix. Apparently some of this was used for GTA 3.

Moving Shadow was a great drum and bass label.
I noticed there's a drum and bass thread on here I could spam to death as I have 100s of mid 90s style records, most of which aren't worth much now, from when I was younger.
Stuff like this https://www.discogs.com/MI5-I-Cant-Unde ... ase/142061
I knew Rob Haigh's music as Omni Trio way before I read a few interviews and realised he'd done loads of other stuff with Nurse with Wound.

I guess this album could count too, but it'll never play in a club. I have a million emotions whenever I play this, always negative. Even had a panic attack once listening to it

In the next thread on children's albums he will introduce a drone album to make your 4 year old daughter cry! Every genre needs more noise and slow church organ.

This sounds so dated that it's somehow awesome? Like it came from another universe or by aliens. To be fair, the early 2000s was such a strange era that it might as well have been from another universe.

I started going to techno parties in the early 2000s. By then I reckon it was probably a lot different to the 90s for the kind of techno I was hearing. Mills and Hood and the loopy sound had already had a massive influence. I still have a lot of blind spots being more into UK.detroit techno so a lot of the Berlin stuff has passed me by even though I like it when I listen.
