Will be doing it slightly differently soon. It's gonna start to be harder to post just one track. RYM also has track ratings and I noticed that the tracks I love the most tend to be one of the lower or even lowest rated. For now I'll make the first youtube link my favourite track and the 2nd one the highest rated track. There will of course be some exceptions, such as me agreeing with the ratings, no track ratings on RYM, albums with very few or only one song, etc.

This one will have 11 entries as I relistened to something that would make this list since I've started posting it. 2 will have the same number. Also at one point here this is when the albums start becoming 5/5 albums.

70. The Third Eye Foundation - You Guys Kill Me (1998)
Atmospheric Drum and Bass, Illbient
Can't explain through genres but this sounds like it was either made by aliens or in another dimension
Image 69. Coil - Musick to Play in the Dark (1999)
Electronic, Experimental, Dark Ambient, Post-Industrial
Image 68. Ramleh - Hole in the Heart (1987) 2009 REISSUE

Image 67. The Avalanches - Since I Left You (2000)
Plunderphonics, Dance
Image 66. Failure - Fantastic Planet (1996)
Alternative/Space Rock, Grunge
Image 65. Zbigniew Karkowski - One and Many (2005)
Harsh Noise, Drone
Image 65. Charli XCX - Vroom Vroom (2016)

Image 64. Reinbert de Leeuw - Gnossiennes; Gymnopédies; Ogives; Trois sarabandes; Petite ouverture à danser (1995)

Image 62. Jeff Mills - Live at the Liquid Room, Tokyo (1996)

This Satie recording is why I'd never be able to make an album top X that includes classical music. It's really not suited for this format. Still a nice entry though.

I should mention that Clarence Clarity can still go up in the ranks as I'm currently addicted to it. It managed to make R&B and boy band music tolerable thanks to the interesting song structures and the incredibly dense and complex production. Only flaws are 2 short interludes tracks which aren't interesting. Another potential flaw is that the songs are so dense and complex that listening to the entire album at one sitting can be exhausting.

Loving the Jeff Mills mix and The Third Eye Foundation, thanks! Definitely going to listen to more of that. The latter is groovy as hell.

60. Einstürzende Neubauten - ½ Mensch (1985)

Image 59. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (1993)
East Coast Hip Hop
Image 58. Chuck Person - Chuck Person's Eccojams Vol. 1 (2010)
Vaporwave
I'll admit, this album makes no sense sober. However, listening to this on weed... it's not an album. It's a journey.
Image 57. Françoise Hardy - La question (1971)
French Pop, Chamber Folk
Image 56. Wolf Eyes & Anthony Braxton - Black Vomit (2006)
Noise, Free Improvisation, Power Electronics

50. Richard Dawson - Nothing Important (2014)
Avant-Folk, Singer/Songwriter
The second link actually has a song structure
Image 49. Jute Gyte - Perdurance (2016)
Avant-Garde/Black Metal, Electronic, Microtonal
Image 48. Sequentia - Canticles of Ecstasy (1994)

Country Blues
Image 44. Kirin J Callinan - Embracism (2013)
Art Rock/Pop, Electro-Industrial, Honestly Better Than Bowie
This one I'd recommend hearing the 2nd track first. Sounds more like Bowie, and obv my favourite track is the most inaccessible and most industrial one
Image 43. ROME - Flowers From Exile (2009)
Neofolk

Sorry. Had to leave the house both days this weekend (never thought I would say that), and was getting discouraged by the lack of responses.
Hey, the fact that I don't comment does not mean I don't listen :) I suspect this is the case with most people browsing this thread. I find it very refreshing and useful so please keep up the good work :) I don't rush with it, I go through the list and I'm adding a lot of stuff to my Spotify playlist.

Hard/Progressive Rock

Spotify submitted this to my Discover Weekly, and I decided to listen to the complete album because I remembered the cover. Good stuff!
If you like this you should be checking out more of the 70s prog stuff, there's LOADS of high quality music to be found there :)
I know, I know ... So much great music, such a lack of time. :)
What would be the top three I should check, next to this and King Crimson, of which I'm already a fan?

I'd say VDGG, Gentle Giant (seeing as you're also into classical music I believe you should really be enjoying these bands, this is some very intricate, highest quality stuff), it's a bit difficult for me to pinpoint specific bands or artists (apart of course from well known acts like Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Rush, Camel etc, that I'm sure you are already familiar with) - I'd highly recommend to go though the top 100 listed on PA:

Lots of stuff I don't know in that list. I think it might be very useful. But what's Kind of Blue doing there?
