A very good batch! Maybe some Tangerine Dream in the top 4? Or "Once Upon a Time in the West"?

yep, the title does fit perfectly, but it's a coincidence. this was my #1 biggest rediscovery of a song I think I've heard years ago (must've been when it came out? so about 10 years).

Thanks, Armo. I found it unpredictable all the way through. Found it intriguing that others thought they could predict your choices.

I think part of this is a continental difference -- what was generally popular in Europe vs. what was popular in North America. You were not the only one to make predictions, but Child in Time, I'd say, was never on the radar here in the States, but it seems to be considered a major rock classic in Europe.Lammetje on Apr 27 2016, 12:09:51 PM wrote:I don't know if you are referring to me, but I only knew "Child in Time" was gonna make it - the rest of my guesses were long shots.Local Hero -- aka MestnyiGeroi on Apr 27 2016, 11:41:25 AM wrote:Thanks, Armo. That tie would contain lots of albums. The kind of music I want to listen to is very much influenced by my mood. It's a lot more with music than with movies for me. That's why I have less problems ranking movies than ranking music.Armoreska on May 19 2016, 12:55:13 PM wrote:make a tie!joachimt on May 19 2016, 12:18:44 PM wrote:Everytime someone makes a list like this or starts working on it, I really want to try. Love Neil Young. Check out Weld if you want a great live album with lots of rocking out extended versions like the Fillmore Cowgirl (though I don't think it actually has Cowgirl on it
)

here we go, the new longest track (I think). 2112 was 20 minutes and Get Ready under 22. starting from 9:00 should have been sampled in hip hop

I miss personal countdowns.
It's been what almost 15 years since i must have first heard it. always coming back to this. i left it off when i put this together, but cant deny any longer:
393. Chris Walsh & Dave Beran - Shake (Revolt Clogrock Remix) (2001)
who are these people
that's in between Roforofo Fight and Peace In Mississippi
and a much fresher discovery
463. Killer Mike - Reagan (2012)
between some Yes and Nugent

255. W.A.S.P. - The Headless Children (1989)
probably the quintessential 80s b-movie metal song, not that it was in any. the lyrics seem meaningful too
Spoiler: click to toggle
504. Metallica - St. Anger (2003)
very catchy, rough and never gets respect? never thought their song will make it so far, a filesharers' most alienated band. but I guess Prince is also here. i'm badly/madly/merely in anger with you.

Pink Floyd upgrade edition (after going through Gilmour lives).
Also updated the bubbling unders in the first post
291. Eagles - Journey Of The Sorcerer (1975)
397. Anthrax - Safe Home (2003)
Anthrax goes pop rock and wins
475. Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond (1975)
533. Grimes & Janelle Monae - Venus Fly (1975)
the only song here where the video is better than the music, though I ended up addicted to the sound as well
545. Pink Floyd - High Hopes (1994)
can't decide which live version I like best, might as well go with PULSE
550. Pink Floyd - One Of These Days (esp. Live at Earls Court from PULSE, but shoutout to Pompeii) (1971/1995)
568. Pink Floyd - Echoes (esp. Live at Pompeii) (1971)
The Phantom Of The Opera key riff kinda sampled this haha I never noticed until I read it

191. Built To Spill - Cortez The Killer (live Neil Young cover) (2000)
Not even one of my 10 or perhaps 20 fav Neil Young songs. And to think this could have gone undiscovered had I not picked up the live album from their discog!
297. Bass211 - My Superstitious Brain (mashed up Run-DMC & Stevie Wonder & Cypress Hill & The Beastie Boys) (2008)
sampled from:
Run-DMC - My Adidas
Stevie Wonder - Superstition
Cypress Hill - Insane In The Brain
The Beastie Boys - An Open Letter To NYC
