How can a band still be this good after over 30 years of playing?

Counterbeat was a two-tone band from Novi Sad who released just one LP; Until now I didn't know about this venture into synthpop of their own, but it sounds great. (Hi, howsa going'? - Good. And you? I'm good too.). It's about meeting an acquitance who you barely now and have nothing to speak with, but you still have to be polite and exchange a few words. :D

Take a moment to listen to this and watch Danny Carey basically doing something that is out of this world. It's really hard to phantom what this literal god is doing for 12 minutes, I can imagine it's even harder for someone who has never touched an instrument. Just know that there is only one person in the world able to handle 4 rhythms at once and he is free to watch on youtube.
I saved Latin, what did you ever do ?

I was watching a 3 hours Krautrock documentary where this song was mentioned in passing, I actually never knew who did the original, I only knew this version by Hot Butter from the Nu Pogodi Soviet animated series :) Hence I discovered this was originally composed back in 1969 by Gershon Kingsley and comes from the album below - I must say this stuff is really impressive considering the year it was written in.

That's what I always think of when I hear the song. I loved that show as a kid (although I only remember one episode..). The original version of the song is really nice too, hadn't heard it before.
