142. Nirvana - Something in the Way

Genre: Acoustic Rock, Alternative Rock
Sub-genres: Slowcore, Chamber Pop
Country: United States
Descriptors: energetic, rebellious, angry, male vocals, sarcastic, apathetic, passionate, alienation, anxious, self-hatred, aggressive, pessimistic, melodic, anthemic, misanthropic, nihilistic, lonely, dark

Nirvana has a lot of good songs, so i guess it's about time they appear in the list. There are like five songs i love, this is the first, but they probably won't all five make it, because they are not enough places (unless i continue to expand further than a top 250).

I also think i still don't have a "grunge" song in my toplist, and i of course chose a song from Nirvana that isn't really considered grunge lol.

Sub-genres: Dream Pop, Shoegaze, Neo-Psychedelia
Country: United Kingdom

The bridge between me probably being a goth in the early 80's scene and being a dream pop/shoegaze fan in the late 80's and early 90's is definitely this band.

151. A Primary Industry - Cicatrice

Genre: Shoegaze, Post-Punk, Ethereal Wave, Funk Rock, Gothic Rock
Sub-genres: Neo-Psychedelia, Sound Collage, Industrial, Experimental Rock, Dream Pop
Country: United Kingdom
Descriptors: melancholic, female vocals, sombre, atmospheric, surreal, abstract, energetic, dense, raw, ethereal, hypnotic, playful, lo-fi, ominous, dark, progressive, avant-garde

Ethereal wave vocals, shoegazey guitars, post-punk beats, funk bass, and just an overall experimental vibe. Very ecletic mix and it reminds a bit of shoegaze mixed with earlier Cocteau Twins era, but more ecletic, noisy and industrial than them.

Earlier than Loveless era, one hidden gem that went under the radar forever till eternity & beyond, and I hope this will be soon picked up.

For who is interested: my grimes top 50 on RYM: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/Lakigiga ... ite-songs/

Reminded me i didn't include REALiTi (Demo) yet. Song for Ric is not really on RYM (as the bonus tracks aren't mentioned on the album Visions on any site, is neither on the official version of Visions, but is just on YouTube.

154. My Bloody Valentine - Slow

Genre: Shoegaze, Dream Pop
Sub-genres: Noise Pop, Post-Punk, Baggy/Madchester
Country: Ireland
Descriptors: noisy, romantic, raw, energetic, dissonant, dense, male vocals, female vocals, love, sensual, atmospheric, lo-fi, melodic, sexual, bittersweet, spring, sentimental, anxious, melancholic, summer, Wall of Sound

Not the first one in the list, and certainly not the last one either! I regret ignoring them for too long in my list, but yeah... Seems i forgot a bit last year how much I enjoyed them in 2018-2019 and now rediscovering that, as well as even enjoying it more than at any point earlier in my life (esp. the ep's, where it used to be Loveless before).
