Gotta cure this ennui and films are only doing so much. Since it's been 3 years I recompiled my list of my favourite albums. It ended up being 300 entries, perfect for a list.

A disclaimer, I didn't include any albums from The Caretaker's Everywhere at the End of Time project as only 4/6 albums of it came out. I want to treat it as one entry when it's complete. 3/6 of the albums would have made my list otherwise.

300. Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein (2001)
Abstract Hip Hop
Image 299. Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition (2016)

I somehow missed this thread, but I'll try to check out some of the stuff!

If you ask me, you shouldn't make the tempo too high or nobody will listen anything. I think ten entries a day should be the max, otherwise it will be too much to really follow by listening songs as well.

I was posting more as this is still the bottom of the list. I'm also going under the assumption that people are skipping a few of the extreme genres like noise, power electionics, war metal, etc.

I'll post one package a day then so 9 entries.

I should note that some noise pop stuff later on in this list can still be quite accessible. Same with some very few industrial albums. In my top 10, there's a metal album that I showed to two people who HATE metal. One loved it and the other enjoyed it.

I was surprised to find that some of Charli XCX's music doesn't totally suck balls. Her Sucker album certainly lives up to its name (crap), but a lot of stuff on True Romance is really good. I haven't listened to Pop 2 yet, but your inclusion of it here is promising - I'll give it a listen!

Don't know if I'll listen to True Romance. I keep hearing that her music sucked until 2016. I was of course very sceptical of listening to her work, but everyone keeps saying how awesome Pop 2 is. Turns out they were right. The songwriting and structure is more interesting, the production is fantastic, and her flow is on fire. There are some top 40 flourishes which can be kind of annoying but I find that even for that style they were still somehow tolerable, probably for the reasons stated above. I see people calling this her experimental album, which I would disagree with. Art Pop? Maybe, but it's not weird.

The mixtape Number 1 Angel had some fantastic moments and incredible production, but there were still some top 40 crap in there.

Her EP Vroom Vroom was also a pleasant surprise. Now that one, I would call it experimental pop. Very surprised that a top 40 artist would make something that inaccessible. I would even say that there were moments where it's dark and disturbing. SOPHIE produced it too and everyone is going nuts over her work now, although I have some complaints about her newest album. Only complaint for this EP is that I don't like the high-pitched chorus in the song Vroom Vroom, but the rest of the song is great.

I haven't listened to them. Looking them up, Angelcorpse's The Inexorable looks good. Same with Order From Chaos.

I actually really need to listen to more war metal. There's just Revenge, Damaar which was also posted here, and some Blasphemy. It's so intense, primitive, and barbaric. I love the genre so far.

Order from Chaos is way more Death Metal, I've only heard Stillbirth Machine which was great.

For war metal, I'd recommend Conqueror (the pre-Revenge band), Caveman Cult and Death Worship.

Edit: great list so far by the way, very diverse.

My favorite Molly Nilsson song is definitely 1995, but these things take time is probably her best record. hey moon is sublime. a john maus version of that song seems pointless.

Listened to something that would make it on the top 300. Wanna list it, but it'll ruin the ordering of the list. I guess show the entry after the list is completed?
