Hi everyone! I'm a long time ICM user (probably about 8 years now?) but never been active on the forums before. I thought I'd take the step and say hello!

I remember when I found ICM, it was like finding something I've been looking for all my life, as I had since childhood written down every single movie I ever saw (and how many times I saw it!) in a notebook - and then later, in a Word document that I saved on several servers in fear of losing it. I always thought I was the crazy one, but finding this site was just perfection.

I absolutely LOVE movies, but I haven't seen nearly enough, as evidenced by my signature here. Currently going through a personal and very ambitious movie watching project, which I will possibly write about in the Film Logs...!

ANYWAY, HI! Nice to meet all of you.

I subtitle into Norwegian, from English, Russian, Japanese, Danish and Swedish. =) Mostly English, though. Heavy demand of anglo-centric movies and TV in Norway for sure.

Welcome! I too have kept lists of movies I've seen (in the past 80 years). I too have always felt I couldn't see enough movies, though I sometimes feel surfeited now.

Thanks, man! Yeah, it certainly opens up a lot of doors in cinema without question. =) I'm a huge fan of multilingual movies where language is actually used the way it would be used, instead of weird, fake accents. I loved "Inglourious Basterds" almost indecently much for that reason, and "Isle of Dogs" also recently impressed me in that way!

Well, sure. But if you don't need to use ICM for its main function, then why pay for a single additional feature?

Hello, my name is Sol. I am a former IMDb message boards user currently residing in Australia. My favourite genres are science fiction, horror, mystery and war. I own over 8000 films on Blu-ray and DVD and my favourite filmmakers include Stanley Kubrick, David Cronenberg and Roman Polanski.

And I know that most of you already know me, but since I never posted on this thread when I arrived, this seems like a perfect place in which to make my 4000th post since joining this awesome film community. That's an average of over 6 posts per day; far more active than I was in the twilight years of my IMDb days amid trolls and whiny drama queens. Simply put, this strongly moderated forum rules.

Yes welcome sol! I don't think I've heard of any of your favorite filmmakers - could you describe their works? I assume they mostly make porn, as this is you know mostly a porn forum. How do their works compare to those of Joe Gage?

Well, my favourite Kubrick film is Eyes Wide Shut and Videodrome gets my preference of Cronenberg's work, though it would a push to call The Ghost Writer erotic. I guess I need to rewatch What? and try to make it my favourite from Polanski to fit in here. :o

I just became one. And logged in to IMDB after a decade or so of not doing so. Mostly active on Letterboxd. Can I make my lists there to participate?

Never mind. Just realized.

Hi

I'm coryn, recently became obsessed with ICM.
It's the perfect mix between my two passions, movies and statistics.
Currently I am only a few days away of reaching the age of 24 and I live in the small country of Belgium.
I'm far away from most people here regarding films seen as I have been watching series during my university time and when I was younger I watched the same 40-50 movies on repeat.

Hope to have some interesting conversations on this forum in the future!

Thanks a lot, I asked 4 random people on here who watched the movie and got a nice response from all 4. Was pleasantly surprised by that in comparison to other fora.

Hello everyone,

I stumbled upon this forum by accident while searching for something on ICM page. Glad to find you guys.

I'm 28 year old from Zagreb. Croatia. I'm also a film critic and I just started a fresh reviewing platform so I'll just put it here if you want to support it and like it.

German reinforcement here. Finally, one of the registration emails came through, so I could activate my account. I enjoy watching movies since my early childhood, with one of my first movies ever watched being the original "Star Wars" from 1977. Furthermore, I appreciate listening to classical music, experimental music, industrial rock, and gabber/hardcore techno. My favorite artists are Till Lindemann, Oomph!, Angerfist, DJ Nosferatu, XS Project, and more or less AK AusserKontrolle.
