Hi guys. Some of you will probably remember me from IMDb (my new username is just a joking reference to my name there really). Nothing's written in stone as to how much I'll end up posting on here, but it looks good from what I've seen and I decided to sign up.

Awesome! And you're just in time for the Canadian challenge and upcoming Canada poll. How's life in the great white north?

Pretty good, a little hot and rainy as of late but I can't personally complain! How are you?

I also finished up Buffy, by the way, and even Angel for that matter (I can't remember if you liked the spinoff or not, maybe you hadn't even seen it).

I never got through ANGEL for some reason - I own the box set, will get to it at some point. I've seen the first season and a few episodes of the second, like it quite a bit, but for whatever reason it didn't pull me in like BUFFY. I just don't watch much TV and what little I do watch I often watch with my mom, who lives nearby and who I take care of to some extent, and while she doesn't have any mental problems or anything, she simply doesn't get a lot of modern culture and really there's very little TV from the past 30-40 years that she'd enjoy. So I'm watching Mary Tyler Moore with her at the moment, about once a week or so; more modern stuff I have to really make time for and I've only been watching movies lately. I do want to catch up with Twin Peaks new series and a couple of other shorter (so far) series like Westworld and American Gods, but who knows when.

Ah, I see. Yea, I don't think Angel is as good as Buffy, but I still think it's a very strong series, and I was really happy to see Spike come back in Angel, being a huge fan of his character on Buffy.

Yea, I remember you not being terribly into TV. Conversely, I've actually had more of a focus on television this year. I haven't seen the new Twin Peaks yet, but I am currently in the process of watching the original (early into the second season so far), and I've also watch some others in their entirety like Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Eastbound & Down and Freaks & Geeks, all of which had various runs.

I thought it weird also - wondered if you both were on some other forum that has suddenly crashed and burned. I'd imagine there's been a bit of that already.

Nah, this is the first of the "IMDb replacement" forums that I've tried posting on. I made an account on that imdb2 site way back when the forums were first closing down, but I never ended up touching it. Never signed up for reddit either. I'd just intermittently heard some good stuff about ICM from one of my IMDb friends that I'd been keeping in touch with through email, and finally decided to give it a try.

Actually, you can blame (thank) me and, indirectly, yourself for PrivateWitt's arrival. Film General Reddit is still active, albeit a lot less than it used to be. Witt started a thread asking who do we miss the most that didn't migrate over, so your name was mentioned among others. I told him that I don't miss you because we're both on ICM which reminded him that he also made an account here when the IMDb boards were closing.

I also may have shared your thoughts on Oscar Best Picture debacle, because a lot of people were interested in it. knowing about your love for La La Land. I apologize if I stepped out of line doing that.

Hey everyone.

Not exactly new but my god it's been a long time, I haven't been able to watch a lot of films in the past few years (yeah I know) due to university and other RL commitments, but looks like I'm on track to becoming a full time film buff again, it's good to be back.

I have lost the two places i discussed films in recent months and this seems like a neat place to try to establish new ground! There's lot of stuff I don't understand about the lists and all that but yeah...Hello! :p

Hi everyone,
My name is Stephanie, and I'm from France. I'm an electronics engineer for the Space industry, and my hobbies are cinema (mostly classic US movies from the 1930s-40s - My name is a reference to my favorite movie of all time, Notorious) and travelling. I'm glad I found a community to share my opinions on movies.
