I haven’t had alcohol in a few months and I’ve been sober completely for 6 weeks but wanted to have a night or two just to chilllllll no drugs for me tho

Yea I try to avoid it ever since my brother threw a table at me and I had to hide in the toilet.

Boyfriend wiped us all out by getting all the damn properties. Obviously a cheat :hmph:

Well, I just got to sign a condolence card for a friend of mine whose wife died of breast cancer at 35. As such, I'm posting in this thread for... reasons.

If anyone is up for some rather dark/crude humor, I guess you have a very willing participant. :circle:

Two things:

1. I just received the following text from my wife:

"I fee like anyone who is against abortion shouldn't be allowed to eat eggs."

Her justification was "International Women's Day drunk text".

2. I have a friend who has the possibility of having a child born on April 20. Obviously, the girl's name would be "Mary Jane." But she's expecting a boy, and I'm not sure what that name would be. Jeffrey Dude? William Snoop? What would be the best option?

Boyfriend wanted to get drunk today so we got some vodka and I’ve only had two drinks and am totally gone. We went out to this place the other day which had giant chess and now he wants to play chess so we bought chess and have been playing that. I suck at it but I won the third game even though I was super drunk so I’m happy.

Because I'm not in work or driving at the moment my sister keeps taking me for lunch to keep me occupied so I keep having these mid day drinks that leave me sleepy by late afternoon. I can't watch a film until much later when I'm like this. I just have to doze around on the internet until the evening when i can sit down with another drink and relax then drunk post on forums again.

Finishing a 750 ml bottle of Saison Dupont - Dry Hopping - Styrian Eureka. This is about as much drinking as I usually do these days so it's just a pleasant buzz really. Only real negative is that watching films that are even remotely challenging is tough. But I have no more Chuck Norris handy so I may have to go for a Straub/Huillet anyway, drunk or not. Those are my only choices obviously.

Four years ago tonight, my wife and I moved into our house.

Tonight, my wife and I sat in our backyard, made a fire, drank some beer, and roasted marshmallows for s'mores. It was a super fun way to honor the fact we haven't had to move for 4 years. Also, I might not be sober now. Fire is awesome.

I forgot to mention the funny part...

Wife turned on 80s music to set the mood (successfully, I might add). First on was "Down Under" by Men at Work, so I mentioned that was a perfect song since the Australia challenge is running in April. She made the "neat, I love you, but shut up" sounds, so of course I spent the rest of the evening relating every song we heard to forum challenges. Ranging in skill from Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" (You mean like war zones, as exhibited in Top Gun) to Eurhythmics' "Sweet Dreams" (oh yes, like the sweet dreams many of our forum members have to get their film nomination listed into the Doubling the Canon list).

Haven't smoked since November, but prices seem pretty similar (if not a bit more expensive) to what I was paying before. $300-350 for an oz. The main guy I went to had pretty decent stuff, the backup option was not as good.

If I understand correctly, US$1=AU$1.4 (more or less), so the average US price of US$326 from the first graphic is AU$473, but in my state (legal) US$211 or more like AU$306. So that's quite a difference. Interestingly, my state has a problem with overproduction so that helps account for the lower price. I'm assuming it also includes the sizable tax - about 25%.

Oh, and included in overproduction is everyone I know who is actually growing their own. Most people get the four legal plants their first year and then they're begging everyone to take some away because they have more than they can ever use. After that, most only do two plants.

have we ever done a list of best/most fav stoner movies? Could have two parts: movies about getting high (think Cheech & Chong or Harold & Kumar stuff) AND movies that are super awesome to watch when stoned.

I hadn’t had alcohol for months but my boyfriend and I decided to get drunk and play Mario Party and Trivial Pursuit last night. I won both games, of course. Drinking always seems like a good idea until I drink just a little too much and my body starts collapsing on itself and falling asleep... only takes me 3-4 drinks before I’m gone. Now I’m waking up in the middle of the night with heartburn and can’t get back to sleep. My quikeze expired months ago and was all melted :( and I’m guessing I’m not gonna like my weigh-in in the morning. Ugh, why.

Um... commercials are FUCKY nowadays!

Watching mostly films and paying for a few commercial-free streaming services for TV and running an ad-block service, I just don't see commercials any longer. But watching the NFL games today... wow. Just wow. Utterly ridiculous. Like, I think McDonalds might be selling Asian women for $2. So weird to be inundated with advertising after avoiding it for so long.

yeah, when I visit friends and they have the TV on, or I use a browser without ad-blocking, it's amazing how pervasive advertising is. I find two things incredibly annoying: flashing on webpages and the noise of advertising. Actually, advertising is simply noise, as in pollution.
