Announcement of absence

#1

Post by allisoncm » February 6th, 2012, 11:11 pm

We had this at a couple other forums. If you're not going to be here for awhile, you can post here.

I might be around a little bit, just not so active for the next couple days. I'm going to have a guest. Then I'll be back on Wednesday and Thursday. Then again from Friday-Sunday, I'll be busy. Hopefully my guests will want to watch movies. But in the meantime monty can sit back and relax, because I will not be checking too many films.

I totally misspelled this. How embarrassing! It should be "absence"!

Damn! Aren't you at least gonna sign up for the unofficial checks challenge? I bet you stand a good chance of winning it if you put your mind to it...

Make sure when you report an absence you indicate your home address, how long you will be gone, the alarm code, and where you leave your extra key. Just in case.

Monty is too far behind Gary to worry now, Gary is heading for the Top 5 in the not too distant future.

Starting at noon tomorrow Kas will take the rest of the year off from film watching. So will the remainder of the top ten too - with one notable exception...

I take it you mean your own local times of course, perhaps we should use Universal Time.

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

Here is a useful calculator, you can see for example 7 am in Perth Australia 7 February would be 11 pm UTC 6 February or you can convert to your local time!
(8 hours difference)

Eventually if they add no more official lists some people might have only Bolllywood left in a few years, would it be worth it> probably not in my view.

I actually will be sorta absent the next couple of days, through Friday, as I am traveling to Los Angeles for a meeting. I am taking DVDs with me on the plane, including my Histoire(s) du cinéma set, so I hope to keep up. Posts here to the forum will be less frequent.

Oh yes, my spare key is under the rock. No, not that one - the other one

Eezee only checks about once a month or even two, but then checks hundreds at a time of course :ph43r:

I'm totally embarrassed about the typo "absense". I hoped an admin would fix it!

Oh, someone changed it! Sure it's funny. It's ironic since I'm an English teacher and I correct typos/spelling errors daily. I was just mortified of my error.

I changed it.

I think a day and a half of embarrassment over the error was enough.

Yes, I noticed right away. It made me cringe. Almost cry. Absence is almost like the word absinthe. I tried to order absinthe in a Nashville bar last night. Guess how successful I was. I ended up with a raspberry martini.
