American friends, remember to complete the census. The Census Bureau started to send out mail for it last week with an online ID attached. It's possible to complete the census questionnaire online at my2020census.gov without having yet received the ID, but not having the ID requires you to input your address while the ID does that part automatically. It only took me a few minutes to complete it online. No questions about immigration status (l)

Don’t talk about Sanders as he is finished.
Can we even talk Democrats then, as Trump is sure to win according to you?
Yes It’s still interesting to see why people think Biden has a chance. Or if you think he is likely to be replaced.

Yesterday (so obviously before the debate), I saw that Biden's camp has told people (off the record) that Biden will pick a young woman to be vice president and will then step down in her favor once elected. At this point it's anyone's guess who it'll be, but apparently she is going to be "impressive". Amy Klobuchar and Stacey Abrams were the names most commonly mentioned in the comments, but it's all speculation (I guess Klobuchar is 'young' compared to uncle Joe...?).
Hillary? 😁

I am just looking at reports but the debate is not relevant. They can and are likely to replace Biden. He does not even want the job.

This might sound like starting shit since this describes one member here, but I've been thinking about it (and I am a part of this community too). I noticed that Kamala Harris has a big LGBTQ following, and it leaves me dumbfounded. 1) she described herself as a supercop. Cops on a systematic level have been oppressing that community for decades. Do you think it's just a coincidence that they don't allow cops to march in the pride parades? 2) the whole trans prisoner surgery thing. It doesn't matter what you think of it, the court APPROVED of the surgery. But, she did her absolutely best to veto the surgery. This shows 2 things, both are incredibly evil. She's either that transphobic, which makes the following make even less sense, especially with her showing the trans flag in her office (when Bernie did it like a week before too), and/or she thinks prisoners are that subhuman.

My guess is that a lot of people are not anti-cop, and that they likely do not know the full details of the trans case, or don't care/find it to be a deal breaker.

Only thing is how many of his supporters will vote Trump or not vote instead of voting Democrat, both believe in stopping wars for example.

Re: Kamala

I found this amusing:

Note: Kulisni is being slightly simplistic to disingenious/misinformed, Romney's proposal was an immediate payout of £1.000, not a structured monthly payment.

Interesting press conference from the White House team on the administration's measures to fight the virus.

Dr. Birx seems like a very admirable and level-headed woman. I thought she spoke with considerable clarity and expertise.
That's all, folks!

I served as an election judge today at a polling place. A bunch of polling places were closed or moved due to COVID-19 reasons and the city also upgraded their voting machines, so parts of it was chaotic and messy.

It seems Marie Newman has beaten Dan Lipinski (l) I think this is the first major primary upset of the season in which a candidate ousts an incumbent congressman. Dan Lipinski was anti-gay rights, anti-reproductive rights, voted against the ACA, basically inherited his seat from his dad, and sides with Republicans on so many things. He was definitely a prime example of a Democrat who needed to be primary. I voted for Newman in 2018, but I'm now in a different district so I couldn't vote in this 2020 race. I'm happy that Lipinski lost.

Even in a Pandemic Democrats/Americans will vote for an extremist who will work to deny them healthcare and murder his fellow citizens. :(

I'm so so sorry for all the people who are fighting for their lives.

And how many more will have their lives destroyed?

I wonder how many loved ones the Biden and Trump voters will lose or see go bankrupt because of this. Do they really not care about themselves, their friends or their children?

I'd rather die than pay more taxes. Even if I save money by not spending money on insurance anymore.

Nothing wrong with paying taxes. The problem is that they're often not spent well.
