Question for the vegetarians and vegans: have you had dreams where you accidentally ate non-veg(etari)an stuff? I dreamed about drinking milk last night and I also remember eating cream not long ago. I felt pretty bad about it in both dreams, even though I didn't do it on purpose. :/

Yeah, I've had a few dreams about eating chicken. One I was just absolutely enjoying every sliver, but others I'm like 'omg what am I doing, this is meat?!'

Maybe as a nightmare. I don't recall, other than there was something of the vile sort I was doing in a dream once.
This actually was asked in one of the vegan chats Im part of.

Would you come back to eating (more) animal products if your doctor recommended doing that and you would believe it (under the threat of serious health consequences)?

Not for awhile, but I remember having dreams where I ate turkey, which is strange, because I never ate much turkey even before I became vegan. But yes. It's weird. Then I woke up and remembered I don't eat meat and it was just a dream.

Given that doctors know next to nothing about nutrition, no. It's not something they're required to learn much about and yet that won't keep them from pretending to be experts.

That's sad.

But my answer is NO to doing any of the following to improve my life:
eat dead humans
eat poop
rob an orphanage
use and order slave labor

so the equivalent gets the same treatment.

Have you tried supplementation or diet change?

Made this Creamy Coconut Curry Lentils with Spinach for dinner tonight. I had to use green lentils and I was simmering for over an hour, but it is soooo good. Had it with the curry carrots, rice and naan suggested in the pic and it was a tasty feed. Looking forward to the next bowl tomorrow night

I bought some soy milk to try but kept putting it off because I was expecting it to be horrible. Almond milk was disgusting and I don't know if I've tried oat milk, but anyway I decided to finally open it to have with my cereal this morning. It tastes exactly the same as regular milk. It has a slightly sour aftertaste, but otherwise I can't tell the difference. Insane. I had to re-read the container to make sure it actually was vegan. It has more calories than dairy milk, but also slightly more protein. I only use milk with cereal, cooking, and as a source of protein so yea bye dairy milk don't need you no more.

Not really trying to go 'full vegan', but if the vegan choice is just as good then we generally try to switch.

Soy milk is easily my favorite of the milk replacements... I'm also not crazy about almond milk and some of the others (rice and oat, which made me gag) . I like coconut okay, but it's got too much saturated fat for my body to handle properly.

And, I am virtually (but not 100%) dairy-free right now. I eat animal proteins about 2-3 times monthly since June 3rd, which is when I got the results of my last blood test that was out of whack. But otherwise no animals products at all. I also removed a lot of carbohydrates (mostly the grains and most sugars) except for vegetables which I eat about 5-8 servings of daily.
Just had my blood drawn again yesterday so if this test comes back better I am going to start removing the animal protein again to see what happens...

"I've been on and off as a vegan and raw vegan and after a few months I always quit because of brain fog and other terrible side effects. When going back to my old SAD diet, I felt better instantly. But I realize why now, and this is so important; eat enough calories every single day. And eat cooked foods and lots of carbs. I feel normal now as a vegan because of that. The reason it failed every time in the past was because I was eating only half of the calories that I eat today. In the back of my mind I was too focused on rapid weight loss. A SAD diet might feel good then and there, because you eat enough compared to starving yourself. So lots of fruit juices, rice, spaghetti and vegs - finally works for me now :) You guys are right, and Freelee is too, about carb the F*** up :)"
