Not exactly a revelation, is it? Took him long enough to realize it. Except idk why he's using that this cuck(old) word. It's spelled a bit differently I think :P

My father didn’t have the skill of a professional cameraman. The result? Avant-garde cinema.

Oh right. The festival was a bit too much for me, so I barely watched anything from it.
I know this title isn't obscure here, but the subject was so  that I had to post it here.

By the way, I fully agree with flaiky:
flaiky on wrote:I watched it last night. I agree that the set-up feels a bit fake and I doubt that everything unfolded in the exact order it was presented, but hey I can't blame them for manipulating the material into an engaging narrative - and I definitely was hooked from start to finish. I don't question the actual story, and it is a bizarre story. It's so bizarre that if anything, the doc underplays it; I wanted to see more outrage, and more explanations. By the end, I felt like I still didn't know why the videos had been made in the first place, exactly what happened with them, why no-one reported their harassment to the police, etc...Something about the execution is definitely off. It doesn't dig deep enough. I think the same story deserved to be told by a more skilled documentary maker. Anyway, definitely not a waste of time. It's especially interested for exposing how dark and fucked up the internet can get...not that we didin't know that!
I also like to add I don't fully appreciate this style of a documentary. It's like watching a making-off, in this case the making-off of an investigation.

It's "making of" with one F. "Making off" would be a heist movie. Or a making-of-style movie about killing your cast members. :teehee:

Yes - that was a story a while back when he came home. NK deported him back to the US while he was in a coma, and he died a few days later. Cause of death was undetermined, though it seemed pretty clear (at least in the media) that something weird went on in NK.

It was the source of some mild tensions back when it happened, but that scandal seems so quaint in comparison to other things that have been happening...

Spaniard raised by wolves disappointed with human life

After he was captured, Rodríguez’s world fell apart and he has never been able to fully recover. He’s been cheated and abused, exploited by bosses in the hospitality and construction industries, and never fully reintegrated to the human tribe.

arrest made in a 40 yr old serial rapist/killer case. guess what, the guy was a cop
Between 1976 and 1986, the FBI said, the attacker killed a dozen people and raped 45. The victims were as young as 13 and as old as 41, they said, and included couples who were murdered as well as people brutalized in front of their loved ones.

Investigators had said they thought the Golden State Killer may have had a law enforcement background, and DeAngelo fit that bill. Between 1973 and 1979, DeAngelo served as a police officer in two different California police departments, said Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones.

The timeline meant that DeAngelo was a law enforcement official when the attacks began, learning how to be a police officer at the same time authorities now believe he was beginning a reign of terror.

wow, i went to read up on it. he's made some calls to police and some are available on youtube.

he was in top 5 by victim count on Wikipedia's list of USA serial killers.

the old man looks senile in court, but probably just acting. he only retired last year.

he was married with children already at the time of his crimes.

and still lived in Citrus Heights where he started.

I think I should point out that this man is actually quite famous on Japanese TV. He has made his entire comedy career out of this one bit of hiding his penis with various objects, set to music.

Exceptionally stupid people in this movie.
This was big news last week in The Netherlands. Thought I'd post it here as well. There is a zoo here with wild animals. You can drive around the zoo in your car and the animals can get right next to your car. So of course it says everywhere in multiple languages that you should stay in your car and keep your windows shut. You must be pretty stupid to not understand this, right? Well, this French family didn't understand the concept of this zoo.

Not sure. I guess the speed limit is very slow of course. Never been into that zoo myself.
