well, obviously ya can't be expected to play basketball and tic-tac-toe at the same time.

Men, of course, would have to make a touchdown and then a lightning chess move.

Meanwhile, back in Phila - City seems to be experimenting with different ways to mess up big events. There was the RK2 fiasco, the Pope's visit fiasco.... Yesterday nobody could reverse commute - something they only found out the night before.

What does RK2 stand for? Doesn't ring a bell.

I viewed the Eagles' parade in Philly on TV, and it was pretty cool to watch. Jason Kelce's WWE wrestler-like speech was great, and hilarious.

Back from the basketball. It was good. Not very big crowds in the UK for basketball (even in London) but it was entertaining. London Lions lost but are 4th in the table. Will definitely go again.

When he was at 17 majors, I thought Fed would chance his way into one more before he retired, similar to Sampras' last or that magical Agassi run at the US Open the year before he retired. But 3 in the last year and (likely) reclaiming the #1 position is ridiculous.

Federer still winning. It's been easier than ever of course, but I wonder if healthy Hyeon Chong can beat him today.
If Fed wins, he'll match his best start of the year (2006).

One of the biggest upsets in American sports history earlier tonight, when a 16th seeded team beat a #1 seed in the men's college basketball tourney for the first time ever. Not only beat them, but demolished them by 20 points. Quite a sight to see.

Virginia wins a best of 7 series 100 times in 100 tries. But this is the exciting and frustrating nature of March Madness.

That was awesome! It was going to happen sometime (16 seed finally beating a number 1), and it's very cool to witness it. And like you said, UMBC ended up winning quite easily. This is gonna be a wild tournament.

How many season titles have been won on the last lap of the last race? 2008 F1 comes to mind. But that one Hamilton was already leading and just had to recover one position to keep the overall lead.
Today Kaisa Makarainen managed to shoot clean and passed the actual leader and a few more skiers on the last lap to finish 6th and gain a 3 point lead.

Just keeps them from getting beaten by 45 by Nova. Now that'll be Michigan's job.

On to baseball. So excited for the soon-to-come White Sox dynasty. It'll be a year or two before it begins to really bloom, but when it does, the rest of the AL is fuuuuuuuuuuucked, baybay.

I'm watching Higgins - Un-Nooh as we speak. The latter was so close to a 147, but he missed the last red. :pinch:
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh is a real class act, but Higgins is just another level for now. Good match, with some excellent and beautiful snooker. It's only the second session I've seen this WC, after Brecel - Walden, part 2 yesterday, and that one was an utter disaster. Both player struggling and the table just looked like a mess every damn frame.

Trump vs. Wakelin yesterday was very dramatic. I just finished watching the second session of Hawkins vs. Lyu Haotian, it was 8-3, then Lyu won 4 on the bounce before Barry won the last one to make it 9-7. Perry vs. Allen at 8-8 finishing off this evening, gonna be tense.

Good tournament so far with a lot of centuries.

I had a really cool experience yesterday... I got to attend an NFL draft party with an actual NFL hopeful.

The nephew of a good friend is a Wide Receiver, and was looking to get drafted. At various times, he'd been rated as high as a 3rd round pick, but going into the draft, it was looking more like the 6th round. As the draft got later and later, we were unsure how it was going to go. He ended up not getting drafted, but the super silver lining is that frees him up to sign with whatever team as an undrafted free agent - in fact, he signed his 3-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons last night. I was super happy for him!

The party itself was weird - his family was there, along with his girlfriend and a couple friends. It was a light fun environment, but it was forced - this was a day that was going to (potentially) change his life, and it was pretty obvious he was super nervous. Those of us at the periphery tended to avoid him or only engage with him on light topics (I compared hand sizes, for example). There were games and food, and plenty to distract him if he wanted, but he mostly was either watching the draft or playing with his phone. His girlfriend and mom spent a lot of time with him, and much of it was keeping him calm and happy. It wasn't anything unexpected, but it was fascinating to see this world up close.
