I am listening to a remarkable interview with James Lovelock. He is 100 years old and a great scientist. As detailed here he has some very interesting and intelligent views compared to others. He has even written a new book this year. It is about the future of AI intelligence and robots.

But this is talking about people coming from other countries, the argument is if they are Muslim countries they don’t face prosecution there but people of other religions do

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/ ... ng-muslims

This has nothing to do with Muslim born in India so the Nyt article is wrong as presumably Muslims that come to India can remain instead as citizens of those Muslim countries.

Subtle, but another very clever and malicious lie from The Telegraph:
Emily Thornberry admits Labour promised 'moon and stars' in its Corbyn-controlled manifesto
Writing for the website LabourList, Ms Thornberry said she had internally opposed the party’s uncosted spending commitments during the election campaign, but was overruled.
Actual statement:
When I visited Australia earlier this year, where the Labor Party was reeling from a surprise third election defeat in a row, the explanation from my counterparts was clear: we threw too much at the voters; it was all too complex; and there was no single message or set of clear priorities. I think we could say exactly the same here, and it didn’t help that the Tories were able to stick relentlessly to one message and one issue in respect of Brexit, which was always the risk.

To be fair, item-by-item, there’s nothing in our 2019 manifesto that I disagree with. But when you put it all together, it did look like we were promising to deliver the earth, the moon and the stars, and we didn’t need to worry about explaining how we’d pay for all of it, because the Tories were driving a campaign battle bus through their own fiscal rules.
Stating that the mafifesto was promising the moon and stars=//= stating it could be seen that way.

Just an nefarious they try to either claim she called it uncosted, or lie to say it was uncosted. In her article she never used the words uncosted, and as all should know, it manifesto was costed.

It would be great if Lady Nugent aka Thornberry was leader as she has such utter contempt for working class people especially in the north and especially if they voted Brexit it would ensure disaster for Labour. But not as bad as Rebecca Wrong Daily who always look like she swallowed a lemon. And Corbyn giving a Christmas talk was funny, you would not dream he just lost an election.

Tsai Ing-Wen is re-elected in landslide victory in Taiwan. Ing-Wen got over 8 million votes, the most any president candidate has received in the country since it began holding direct elections for the position in 1996. Ing-Wen's party also kept its majority of seats in the legislature, with Ing-Wen beating Han Kuo-yu,who ran on a platform of unification to China.

My old classmate that became a politician went to one of the places where I get therapy to hear sob stories and then make a video on mental health awareness. The hilarious thing about that is that he's 2nd in command for the program responsible for welfare and odsp, and they chose to only increase it annually by 1.5% instead of the usual 3%. Shows how insincere he is with it, and all the charity events he attends. If I was there, I would have called him out on this.

Apparently this says that the neoliberal FDP and the nazi party AFD are working together to make sure a leftist party doesn't win the Thuringia state in German.

Of course, they do.

Every major right-wing party in the world, no matter how far right they are or appear to be, supports universal healthcare.

Even Thatcher did.

It is only the right-wing extremists in the two major US parties that don't.

The minor far-right party here in Canada wanted to privatize it. You did say only major parties, but the leader of it lost the major right-wing party nominee by like 2%.

I also love how the far-right parties almost always call themselves the people's party.

Even I support universal healthcare. It doesn’t mean it cannot be done better, as there is waste but I support it.
