Um, maybe? I guess if everyone's ok with it, we can do so.

Here's Adam at our last meeting, dressed as Connnery in Zardoz. We told you he looked like Sean.

On August 17th, 2013, there will take place the second New York City Pizza Summit. Planned attendees so far are Kas, Walter, Burney, and Local (me). We will have pizza, and then we'll watch a screening of Herzog's Signs of Life. Others who will be in the area are welcome to join us-- just chime in here or PM one of us.

Of course, no one could possibly make as dramatic an entrance as Adam did last time (see Kas' pic above), but in his honor, we will all come in Adam-(Who-Already-Is-The-Spitting-Image-of-Connery)-Dressed-As-Connery-in-Zardoz costumes.

Guess the person in my closest proximity (that being more than 500km) is Sushanthtv. But if we ever meet it'd be hardly about movies considering the "small" difference between the no. of checks of us. May be he can give me a lecture or something.

Next meet-up happening on the 7th! :woot: She's not active on the forum, but she was one of the first iCM'ers I befriended, so it's pretty exciting anyway. Going to a film quiz, which I'm also excited about. I'm not usually excited about going out, but I think it will be pretty cool.

So when the doorbell rings at your house, you must say out loud, "I wonder who that could be? Maybe it's the blonde lady who lives in a small house next to the forest. You know, the woman who works in the same mid-sized company that I work in."

Annoyingly, the film quiz theme this month is 'blockbusters' so it will be typical mainstream trash, but at least I've probably seen enough of the films to get some answers.

Seems like a good idea!
I'm not sure I will do it, though. The following day is the first day at work after summer break for me. I hate starting sleepy.
But if more of you come, you might be able to persuade me.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Maybe we can meet up for a bite to eat and then people can stay for the movie or go home if they have to start early the next day. I'm still undecided too :)

Sounds like a good idea, Sander! Pizza around 18:00 (must be pizza, otherwise it didn't count as an official meet-up, right?).

And maybe I shouldn't whine about the next day. It's a nice way to end the summer break.

Let's do this!

Has to be a spinach pizza or it doesn't count.

Actually, I just remembered that I had a pizza when I met up with Lauren and her dad. Seems to be iCM's meal of choice (or just my meal of choice...).

Anyone got any suggestions for a restaurant?

Preferably one with non-pizza options, since I don't like pizza (I know, blasphemy :P ).

Maybe La Grotta or Il Pozzo?

Both have great locations on the water's edge and decent looking menus. I used to eat in Il Pozzo once a month for almost 2 years but that was 15 years ago, I didn't even know it still existed. For old times sake, my vote is for Il Pozzo :)
