I've heard you can be kind of vague and suggest research to go in.

Well, according to Google Maps, I can get to Sydney in around 42 hours if I drive non-stop for two days.fori on Nov 14 2017, 04:55:02 AM wrote:Japanese film festival in Sydney? Anyone else at all in Sydney?

Hey, are you also Australian? Or are you just in Sydney on vacation/business?

Sorry, forgive my curiosity. I simply have not come across many other Australian users on this forum. There's you, me, mightysparks... maybe a few other folks who I am not aware of. Ah well. I'll be sure to let you know if I am ever on the other side of the country.fori on Nov 14 2017, 06:55:55 AM wrote:I'm an Australian, lived in Sydney all my life... so far.

So, Dutchies, how about it? Time for a bite and/or a few drinks in Amsterdam, and maybe a screening?Gershwin on Aug 15 2017, 08:00:57 AM wrote:joachimt on Aug 12 2017, 09:27:54 AM wrote:I guess this is our conclusion for now. You guys are really awesome. I don't know how the baby will develop, with sleeping etcetera, and how soon my wife will completely recover, but I can imagine having enough time during the last months of the year.
I missed this last month. Sorry. Sure, I'm up for a drink or whatever. It's been waaay too long since we had a Dutch meet-up. Any ideas? Amsterdam is the most practical.

I missed it as well.
Amsterdam, Utrecht or Amersfoort are all fine with me. I'm away this weekend though.

Amsterdam or Utrecht is also the best for me
loads of cinema and other cultural options there too
as for a date the next three weeks are not optimal for me...but if I am the only one that wouldn't be able to come, you guys shouldn't wait...as i've only been to one meeting I still feel a bit like a newbie

No need to rush things. Could just as well plan something at the end of March or in April.

I’m up for a meet too. Let’s pick a date. How about March 17, 24 or 31? Those are all Saturdays

17 is fine with me. 24 not. 31 maybe.
I prefer Sundays.
Maybe we can catch a movie at Eye and have dinner afterwards?

The 17th of March I'll be in Groningen with friends, so that won't work for me. April would be fine with me as well, no need to rush indeed. I'm always happy to know when I'll have this kind of meetings long before they take place.

April is fine with me. I don't have a lot scheduled yet.

How about Sunday the 8th, somewhere in the afternoon?
Yes, April 8th is fine.
I might join too, if that's ok.
That would be great!!Marijn on Feb 19 2018, 11:24:38 AM wrote:I might join too, if that's ok.

Sander and Erik confirmed to be there. So that's 6 or 7 now. Hoping for beavis to confirm as well.

Currently living in Germany, otherwise I would have been interested. Maybe the next one, since I intend to come back to NL after my contract runs out at the end of the year.
I'll be there toojoachimt on Feb 20 2018, 07:11:10 AM wrote:Sander and Erik confirmed to be there. So that's 6 or 7 now. Hoping for beavis to confirm as well.

I'm up for the whole of april in general, because i do not have anything specific planned yet. The only thing that might make me skip the meeting is a filmfestival or a special one time only screening of something in EYE, but i was too focussed on my Lissabon vacation next week and the CinemAsia festival the week after that to be able to confirm that specific date
but count me in. Need to sleep now, but will check tomorrow for the small possibility if i can already forsee anything special coming up in april.... I thought they were starting a Billy Wilder retrospective around that time... Not sure...

April has the Imagine Festival of course.
on the 8th there is a "cinema concert" of Bronenosets Potyomkin in EYE
Imagine starts the 11th
That cinema concert is kinda cool... but no very pressing reason to cancel... I might even suggest it as an option for all of us to go to!?
So count me in, now confirmed

We're talking about this screening at 4 PM, right? I wouldn't mind going there!beavis on Feb 21 2018, 04:15:34 AM wrote:on the 8th there is a "cinema concert" of Bronenosets Potyomkin in EYE

Wonderful!! Let's go there! Is it practical to buy tickets for the whole group at once (if everyone wants to go) or shall we buy each for themselves? Don't know if you've got a reserved seat or anything like that. Maybe it'll matter in reservation-costs as well?Gershwin on Feb 21 2018, 10:33:16 AM wrote:We're talking about this screening at 4 PM, right? no reserved seats or reservation costs, but I'll be using my Cineville card, so will (need to) make my own reservation
cinema concerts are not entirely free for Cineville-card holders. There is a 5 euro charge that needs to be paid when collecting the ticket. EYE only accepts debet-cards, no cash payments.

Alright, everyone who wants to go, buys their own ticket. If someone prefers to skip the movie, we'll meet them after the movie.
