So I want to lose 10lbs, and I need motivation. I thought I would start a challenge. We can do one every month. Obviously whoever loses the most pounds wins.

I wanted to lose 5 more kg (11lbs) before I leave for the UK, so why not. If I do manage to lose 'em, it'll be the first time I've been a normal weight since I was 6 years old!
When mum goes to walk the dog in the mornings, I'm going to go and jog around the park. I prefer to exercise in my room, but I keep putting it off and doing it first thing in the morning gets it out of the way and before it starts to get hot

I don't have a weighting machine at my disposal but I have an old suit to meassure my progress.

Perfect timing for me!!! This last week it has hit me really hard that I need to drop some weight and I determined to get going. So, I'm in!
I'm not so big on just counting pounds as numbers as that is not the most accurate gauge of fitness, but it is a rough indication of progress. Starting ... NOW!

I don't have a scale either but I guess I'll join. Even though I always worked out and had a mostly decent diet I always had a bit of fat on my core. When I had my annual appointment in the hospital my doctor said that I was 3.6 kg overweight but that I might not be able to get rid of it cause I'm just built that way. But I dunno... I'm cutting off as much salt and sugar as I can from my diet now for the past while so maybe this will help me lose weight. Plus a competition like this might motivate me to work out even more.

I'm already 22kg down, I think I should get bonus points
One of my favourite things about my weight loss so far is being able to buy a shirt and have it definitely fit. When I first started trying to lose weight, I had to get XXL shirts and 1/5 would fit loosely enough for me to wear it (I only wear guys clothes and I like a loose fit). I fit comfortably into any Large now. The rest of me could fit into a Medium, but I have to accommodate my chest, which is annoyingly big.

I don't like unnecessary things. Apart from food, cosmetics and gifts, I only bought some underwear last year. So whatever the cost, no scale for me.Kasparius on Mar 2 2013, 11:03:32 AM wrote:Buy a scale you cheapskate!HVM on Mar 2 2013, 10:47:32 AM wrote:I'm inI already challenge myself to a non-beer March

I lost a lot of weight back in 2008 (30 kgs), I've always stayed at the same weight since, but I've gained 5 kgs lately due to no exercise at all.
So a 5 kgs loss would be great for me.

I weighed myself this morning, so be ready for some real competition here.

I try to gain weight, can I join just uhm, doing the opposite of the challenge?

Yes. However, you shouldn't gain too fast, so you won't win.Nopros on Mar 2 2013, 01:43:40 PM wrote:I try to gain weight, can I join just uhm, doing the opposite of the challenge?
I need to gain too. We will start a separate challenge. But the people who need/want to lose weight cannot join our challenge. Because if they gain, they lose.Nopros on Mar 2 2013, 01:43:40 PM wrote:I try to gain weight, can I join just uhm, doing the opposite of the challenge?

Speaking of which, it's dawned on me that I just took my first step toward winning both the weight-loss and the weight-gain contests: I just went for a run, but right before it I drank a chocolate, protein, "sport" milkshake.allisoncm on Mar 2 2013, 02:40:13 PM wrote:I like milkshakes. I have a couple of those mix packets. Although first I have to go to the store to buy some milk. I was going to take part in the weight gain challenge by eating an entire chocolate candy bar. However, after a long and exhausting visit to the little room I'm pretty sure I'm #1 on the weight loss challenge at the moment.

5'7", Current weight: 74kg (163lbs). Goal weight: 69kg (152lbs). My real ultimate goal is 60, but I ain't gonna make that in time for May, though if I get into the 60s I'll be over the moon.
Not sure if a film forum is the best place to discuss one's weight but I've been trying to lose some kilos and maybe this kind of thing will help me to motivate myself more, so here goes...
Been trying to lose some weight after I went over 100kg (220lbs). I'm 181cm /5'9'' 5'11'' (edit: forgot that there are 12 and not 10 inches in a foot
) and not particularly muscular, so that's way too much. Been making slight progress this year though, largely because I'm now working full-time which has lessened unnecessary snacking and I've been able to keep doing physical exercises more or less regularly (could be more regularly though) And I guess walking to work and back helps too. Finally bought a scale about a month ago and I've lost maybe a couple of pounds since then, Would be nice to get close to 90kg before summer. My ultimate goal (for now) is getting somewhere around 80kg.

I actually found an old scale but have no clue if it's accurate or not. I weigh 86 kg (190 pounds) and am 181 cm (a little over 5 foot 11). I know some of it has to do with muscles since a while ago I did a few months of muscle mass training. My arms are pretty meh but I have pretty muscular legs. Now I'm just trying to be fit instead of having muscles. I'll make my goal 81 kg (180 pounds).

This might be useful for most users here, what are you guys doing in terms of diet or maybe even exercise? I'm trying to avoid as much sugar and salt as I can, partially because no sugar should get rid of my acne too. I'm also not eating any packaged foods. I find that the best food to go for is Asian food. Hell even their desserts tend to be healthy, at least for desserts.

Definitely not Chinese food, it's greasy and fat.ArthurYanthar on Mar 3 2013, 10:59:31 AM wrote:This might be useful for most users here, what are you guys doing in terms of diet or maybe even exercise? I stop eating around 6:30-7pm and then only drink water till the next morning. I count calories and vary them a bit to confuse my body. If you starve yourself your body adapts and retains fat.
