My father didn’t have the skill of a professional cameraman. The result? Avant-garde cinema.

Never saw the point in getting cartoons tattooed on to my body. Makes it easier for the police to identify too which could be a problem.

Really worried about those red spots there. It's not blood that will go away. Worst case scenario I'll get them touched up. I just hope that I won't have to pay for it.

You guys are cinephiles. I thought of a tattoo that is a fantastic film reference... but the context of it might completely ruin it. The idea is to get an M on my back.

I honestly might get that one. Other movie ones I'm thinking of getting: 2001 minimal poster, solaris and ascent in cyrillic, fuego en castilla/vapourwave hybrid which will probably be my biggest tattoo, meshes in the afternoon hooded mirror thingy, the twin peaks logo, metropolis robot, the tree and person lying down in tarkovsky's sacrifice, the following Criterion covers: White Dog, Charulata, Female Trouble, Dekalog, the villain in Blood and Black Lace, and the headless thing in Dante's Inferno.

I'm gonna take the plunge and get some neck tattoos soon. It'll be inspired by Jack from Mass Effect. I found neck/behind the ear tattoos to be super attractive and anyone who had one when I saw them automatically looked hot. I am also interested in the cyberpunk look so this would be perfect. I'll do some slight changes such as no circle near my adam's apple, and the lines and circles circuit board thingy started behind the ear. Also I don't want any fake scars like that lol
Spoiler
I should also mention that although I barely care about my older tattoos, there doesn't seem to be any regret at all. I think they make my arm look better through an aesthetic standpoint, and I see it as kind of a journal throughout my life if that makes sense. Kind of like how a tattoo in a certain period represents a chapter of my life at that point. Kind of like my autobiography is out in the open.

I'm gonna get the famous Elliot Smith Figure 8 for my first tattoo, sometime after I'm vaxxed and when it's convenient for my best friend to take me.

Fantastic idea. I'd suggest waiting a few months though because there is probably a HUGE surge of clients from the lockdowns.

My regular artist can't do the first of the 3 neck tattoos because it is so unlike his usual style. I totally get that though. I might have found 3 artists that are willing to do it, but there's a decent chance I'm gonna have to travel to another city to get it done

EDIT: And of course one of the 3 artists has quit right when tattoo parlours opened.

I, an artist, and a friend completely overlooked something. We still have a mask mandate here. Won't the mask get in the way of a neck tattoo? I guess it's best to wait until the end of the year. Was thinking of filling up space on my left arm instead by my usual artist is booked for the next 3-4 months already and won't accept anymore requests. I guess I'm not gonna get anything until November or December at the earlier.

Been talking about it to someone. There is this tattoo that is more minimal that I posted before

Image

This was a more maximalist thing that I was thinking of.

I will leave a lot of it up to the artist, because they actually give amazing advice and will know what's better more than you will, but might as well ask here. Would a sort of combination of the two work the best?

Well, it's your body, but I just don't see the appeal of the large neck tattoo. I don't necessarily like the small one, but I can see how it could appeal to you. The big one? It looks like someone who's really uncomfortable in their own skin and wants to disguise themself as a robot.

Fair enough, but I have a vested interest in early 90s cyberpunk and this screams that. I find full-on tattoos incredibly attractive too.

Of course, that's not the design I will get, copying is frowned upon. I sent both to an artist and she is interesting in combining them and doing her own spin on them. She specializes in yakuza body suits too :o

EDIT: Should also mention that I showed this to some coworkers, and practically all the ones that are tattooed loved the idea.

I should also note that with the large tattoo she's a bodybuilder and they tend to be ok with their bodies
