Not sure why you're smiling. Trump is basically destroying the American government system. Even innocent Presidents have submitted to impeachment investigations. If you recall the Clintons were repeatedly investigated for Whitewater, for Benghazi, for e-mails. Never been found guilty. Bill Clinton was impeached for obstructing via lying.

Trump has already admitted to committing far worse crimes and investigations will only reveal more. Our country idiotically gave him presidential powers and now he's tearing everything apart to protect himself.

It's a bad state of affairs. Stop smiling.

eh, our constitutional crisis diverts attention from the UK's pending constitutional crisis so it shouldn't come as a surprise. Wouldn't you know smoke and mirrors (and lots of lies) are needed to effect Brexit.

He meant as he says, from the environmental point of view you need a separate place to live so use more resources. I am not agreeing with it but this is what is meant. Not talking of how it affects how you feel or how it affects children.

What value did Hunter Biden give to a Ukraine oil and gas company to be paid at least 50k dollars a month. Was it his knowledge of the oil and gas industry or Ukraine business. I think not. Is it a coincidence they go after Trump for Ukraine talks for nothing really at the same time the potential democrats candidates are insane, senile or incompetent or a mix of these? It was of course a coincidence that Hunter got the job . Joe flew to Kiev to confirm US loan would continue provided they fire its chief prosecutor who investigated Burisma holdings , the US had also helped a coup to oust the former pro Russian regime in Kiev..Joe had the lead on foreign aid in Ukraine. As I say by sheer coincidence his son Hunter got that job, Joe knew nothing about it. He never spoke to his son about it and it was unconnected to what he was doing. But it is Trump, orange man bad, that must be impeached, and Joe a potential beneficiary of that.

They endorse a poor old man who had a heart attack, do they want to finish him, the Presidency would be too much for him. All of this according to sources - Bernie is finished. Apparently Biden will stand down as he is running out of funds. Hillary is on the verge of standing. Pelosi does not actually want to impeach Trump so investigation going nowhere. The only other possible candidate is Warren. Bloomberg might stand as well does his age.

I do not actually believe or disbelieve any of this , it’s fun to speculate.

Hmmm, maybe I have a new epithet for Shithole. She isn't a "third-rate politician", she's a "third-grade politician"? Ring any bells? Will the people who think racial epithets are perfectly okay be more comfortable with referring to him as the Third Grader? Seems as appropriate as he digs his way to a new low - maybe not personally, but certainly for this administration and without a doubt, the presidency as an institution. And so many of us old timers thought it'd never get any worse than, "I'm not a crook." Here's betting certain DC offices are swept electronically at least once a day.

Wonder if anyone is planning on staging Julius Caesar in DC anytime soon?

An independent commentator gave Trump 6/10 as President , fairly good, and gives Obama 3/10, GW Bush 2/10, Clinton 4/10, Reagan 4.5/10 , thinks Reagan overrated, George HW Bush 0/10

Sounds reasonable to me. I would have thought Reagan would be higher.

oh gawd, what now? Need I guess? Third-grader is the best of all presidents? Doesn't 'independent commentator' mean guy idiot (that's at least not sexist) with a YouBoob channel?

(And Chelsea is running for the Senate. You just have to read between the lines of her denials. blah blah blah)

I'd also love to hear a tape or see video from today's meeting between Third-grader and No No Nancy. Way to much f'ing spin around this, but honestly, how is 'third-grade' any less of an insult that 'third-rate'? But then I don't refer to entire continents as "shithouse countries".

But hey, at least the administration happily broke up, jailed, and deported an English family (it seems with reason) as Trump is ambushing the parents of a dead teenager with offers of meeting the woman who is accused of running the kid down while insisting the government will fight extradition. Yeah, MAGA meets "special relationship," baby! Imagine how Syrian Kurds are feeling this week! Calling him Shithole is a compliment at this point.

Last thing I'll mention, poll data released within the last day or so show 52% favor charging and removing the pResident as I understand it. It's still probably within the margin of error for sampling, but the poll was largely conducted before Third-grader 'didn't' wave the red cape in front of Mr Everyone Who Doesn't Worship Me Is a Terrorist or Gulenist. I'm thinking, at least in the near term, a wide swath of Middle America will not be pleased by the betrayal of an ally and that number will continue to work against him. While I'm not convinced that Daesh will be an issue before the next presidential election, much like the vacuum created by pulling out of Iraq opened the door they walked through ... some group, maybe Daesh, maybe Al-Qaida, maybe another group, will make us rue the day.

R.I.P. Elijah Cummings, D-South Carolina, 1951-2019, one of the giants of the House.

EDIT - D-Maryland. From "shithole" Baltimore, according to our "President". Not sure why I always make that mistake, thanks for correcting me RBG.

I'm not a tax specialist, but raising taxes can't really be equated with a "in the end you'll save money" blanket statement, can it? I mean, overall quality of life may increase and redistribution of wealth means those with "bad luck" (self-inflicted or not) will be better helped.

But just saying "everyone will be spending less" sounds a little populist?

It's beyond that. Right now your only option is the US to get healthcare is to pay for insurance, or get fucked over if someone has a severe illness. I researched some articles and most families pay around $8,000. Unless your income is a lot higher, you will actually save money even if taxes go up. This only changes for the high income families.

I can see people saying that rich people in America are not taxed enough, but look at this:

Yes... the richest in the country pay the lowest tax rate.

So in order to save money, it's best to get really sick :D
I'm all for good healthcare of course (the situation in the USA is crazy). Belgium has some of the best I heard, but it doesn't automatically mean you'll be saving money, definitely not in the short run.
