Trump proves that he's a douchebag by shutting down the government for 22 days... On the other hand, he might have had to do this to prove to his voters that he's really serious about that wall.

She has no chance, and she will split the progressive vote. She also has said controversial things about homosexuals in the past, and is controversial on other things as well. Not really sure. I still prefer her over the establishment and especially Joe fucking Biden.

Harris will announce on 19 january probably

With the declaration of Tulsi, this is the first primary of a major political party where multiple woman will be a candidate (Gabbard and Warren). And Harris and Marianne Williamson also have a pending announcement. Gillibrand and Klobuchar might announce too.

My preferred order:
1. Richard Ojeda (genuine person and socialist but adapted to America's values! But probably not a strong candidate either (because of his trump vote in 2016 and being unknown))
2. Elizabeth Warren (socialist, but i don't see as her a strong candidate)
3. Tulsi Gabbard (socialist, anti-establishment in some way, i don't see her as a strong candidate and also kinda controversial)
4. Kamala Harris (too elitist / establishment, but willing to support her against trump)
5. Julian Castro (very elitist, but still (as for now) willing to support him against trump)
6. Marianne Williamson (don't know enough about her, seems very focused on race relations, i don't think that's what we need right now)
7. Jay Inslee (boring white dude, governor from Washington, probably too centrist and more socially liberal -> esp. on immigration, no).
8. John Delaney (extremely boring white dude, opportunist, centrist, and what does he has to offer, yes nothing).

No Biden, that's all i want thank you. He shouldn't offend millenials... and is a boring OLD white dude that's out of touch with what people want.

I'm also afraid gabbard will lose in the generals... I mean is she going to do well in the rust belt... or in moderate states like Arizona. i doubt it.

Of the declared candidates, harris is probably the strongest candidate, but even she could lose against trump. It would very much depend on her campaign. With a Clinton-esque campaign, i bet she lose narrowly, as she isn't the strongest candidate for the Rust Belt, but she could still narrowly take MI and PA (because of Philadelphia and Detroit metro areas, and the anti-trump vote). She also has a chance in Arizona because of that. Florida is always close Could even compete in North Carolina and Georgia if she runs a good campaign. She probably narrowly win, but there is no room for error.

He's a boring dude, and i doubt america is going to elect someone whose last name is Castro, although Barack HUSSEIN Obama lol. Still, he has no chance. He's pure establishment trash. Nobody gives a damn fuck about him, except hispanics. He probably has to campaign more in spanish than in english.

He also refuses to accept PAC money, cause there are no PAC's available to him. The establishment prefers someone else. What he is trying to do, is get that VP spot or a cabinet job.
Rejoining Paris, is that all?
No single-payer universal healthcare
Expand college??? Like that dude said, what does it mean
Housing investments? How are they going to pay it and how are they going to do it?

Especially keep in mind what he doesn't say!

I mean, Belgium is in the Paris agreement, and USA is doing more against the climate (partly because of the states) than my country is doing, and we have liberals in the government. Any Democrat will say this, including Biden and even including Ojeda (who runs as a anti-establishment candidate trying to appeal to WWC voters in coal regions).

This is the fact-sheet the RNC releases... THE IRONY. They are so out of touch with the people... And why do they try to favour Democratic ESTABLISHMENT CANDIDATES.
It's like they want Democrats to win in 2020. RNC are elitists who are out of touch with the working class.

1. With who had Trump controversial meetings (D:) ... I heard something about Russians???
2. We all know who's Assad best friend in the USA.
3. Well we won't speak about your issues, ranging from immigration, foreign policy to social sisues
4. Yeah, lots of you guys don't even support your own president
5. Trump wasn't even a congressmember, but a businessman and media personality??? No one did succesfully run for president as a media personality and businessman befroe Trump

This has always irked me a lot about her. Harris not only handled truancy by...prosecuting the parents of the kids skipping school, something that should be unconstitutional, she actually boasted about it and campaigned on it. So proud of family separation, and massive fines on already struggling families and then locking up parents who couldn't afford them. Its not only disgusting, its something she bragged about!

It is a little bit strange to call Gabbard, and especially Warren (who openly refers to herself as pro-capitalist) as socialist. On policy they are just social liberals - but a great step left for the US regardless, and I would be very happy if either one of them got the nomination. I think Warren is a stronger candidate than Clinton was, Gabbard will struggle, but I actually think she would do very well in the rust-belt - she is an army veteran with pro-working class policies afterall - and her anti-establishment record may appeal to the independents torn between Trump and Bernie. (It is also worth noting that it was only Gabbard, Ocasio-Cortez and Khanna who voted against PayGo.)

TIL Tulsi Gabbard is
-a former anti-gay activist who still calls homosexuality a "lifestyle"
-part of a breakaway Hare Krishna cult
-a hardcore Assad defender
-a supporter of anti-pluralist Hindu nationalism in India
Twitter clearly rejects Tulsi.

I'm starting to believe that Trump will replicate the 2016 map and expand.

Best numbers for Biden but it's partly because he's the best known candidate so far. Bad poll for O'Rourke... I think this will mean that the SC primary is going to be rough terrain for him as well. He does bad among blacks in that part of the country, and also millennials seem not to be keen on him. I've seen some hostile reactions from millenials against Beto O'Rourke (incl. here like St.Gloede did, but he's not a millennial or american).
I suppose millenials are more likely to be progressive, and as O'Rourke is a third way pro-business guy, just like Obama and Clinton, those who see his voting records or learn of his policies may be disgusted, or at the very least not want more of the same. But the younger voters did love Obama as well, so I'm sure he would be able to energize people on personality alone.

harris is police which is something i don't like about her but may play very well in the heartland

as a former prosecutor i'm sure she's a very strong speaker and debater. also she's sort of indeterminate ethnicity so all people can relate to her lol

she is tamil indian and african/jamaican descent and very photogenic. she reminds me of obama. people of mixed race are often so beautiful

both of her parents were very successful immigrants. she could be a good match to take on trump imo. she is 54

she was raised in a black baptist church AND hindu temple  she is considered african american and is married to a white guy

Image

gabbard tried to separate herself from the herd today by criticizing dems who were questioning prospective trump judges on their catholic faith -- including harris and her own state's senator maisie hirono. this 'attack on freedom of religion' is a rightwing talking point about the obvious dem concern with abortion rights. cagey. wonder if she'll side with evangelicals trying to strip lgbt protections from the anti-lynching act

I've a hunch that she'll end up less popular than clinton... Today was a good day for Trump. He went up at the bookies, because the division in the Democratic Party seems to be bigger than ever, and the primary will be crowded, loud, attacking and agressive because you need to if you want to be noticed!

Why would people like a woman police officer who is tied with mnuchin, statist and with the big industry. She frightens me.

I have seen Tulsi Gabbard in the Van Jones show, and while i'm waiting for her announcement to know what her policy views are, i already like her a lot. If Sanders doesn't run, i might root for her.

She has said she's a tough candidate against terrorism, but the main peace candidate, and that this is why she has sided with Assad, because the vacuum we left behind in Iraq and Libya was eventually exploied by terrorist groups like IS. And she's absolutely right in that regard!

the only way trump can win is by dividing our party via bs and russian bots. gabbard already has a bot army on twitter. kind of amazing

i will back whoever emerges from the battle royale but i wouldn't bet on tulsi gabbard. her dad helped lead the fight against marriage equality and whole family was very involved in that. she's practically a reagan republican

it's good to see multiple female candidates in the mix though

and it's really hard to imagine trump getting through these two years and being able to expand his base. he's completely dysfunctional

Democrats need to go #allinpopulism or Trump will trash Democrats and send them home. No sane person is going to vote for an American Macron... Maybe they're that stupid in France, but not in USA and you know that.
