The Emoji Movie Game

#1

Post by joachimt » March 21st, 2020, 7:46 am

No, this is not a game about that horrible The Emoji Movie, but this is a game to guess a movie based on a series of emoji's. Yesterday someone sent me a list of 60 series of Whatsapp-emoji's and I had to guess the titles of the movies. I figured that would be a nice game to play here.

Rules are simple:
- Depict a movie title or plot with a series of emoji's.
- Others try to guess the movie.
- The one who guesses right, gets the next turn.
- If the thread dies on a title, anyone can start a new one after silence for a few days.

Useful site:

So let's start with the first one:

Cool! Jonas Govaerts (director of Cub/Welp) was playing that on Facebook too yesterday. Fun game.

Maybe a little clarification is needed, because this game is actually played in two ways. One is about showing the title with emojis, the other is about showing the plot with emojis. Could be a bit confusing?

I already said in the rules it could be both ways.

Just tried using the emojis from my iPhone. Seems a lot of those turn into slightly different pics, but the meaning is the same.

They have the same dimensions as the emojis on this forum, but the boat has a bit more detail, so that might be hard to see. This is just what is posted when using smartphone emojis.
