Guess the song

#1

Post by joachimt »

So here's a new game: Guess the song

The rules:
1. Post a sample of a song
2. Other people can guess which song it is
3. Post another sample at least every 12 hours if nobody guessed it yet
4. If there's no new sample within 48 hours, anyone can start with another song
5. If someone answers correctly, that someone may post the next sample to guess

You are free to choose how long the sample should be, but make it possible to guess.
There's no limitation to obscurity, but again... make it possible to guess. ;)
You can either upload a file or put it youtube and post a flash.

Here is a useful site to cut a piece from a MP3: http://mp3cut.net/

Or you can use this easy piece of software:
Free MP3 Cutter

Great idea! Your first sample sounds like it's been sped up though. I presume that was not intentional?

I guess that website sucks or my source MP3 has a flaw. Give me a moment to make a new sample.

Now I used Free MP3 Cutter. Very easy to use. Very quick.

This sounds right.

Just grabbed one at random. Pretty easy, but meh.

Next we can do Karl's Songs of Phrase.

No, my idea was just like "name that movie". Post a different sample from the same song until someone gets it.

Scratch that. Still that "US top 5" song, right?

But what does "US top 5" mean? Is it currently in the top 5 of the US charts? Wouldn't be so hard to find it out then.

Actually that was misinformation. The album was a US Billboard Top 5 hit in year 2000, but the single did not chart at all apparently

Well, if no one knows it, someone else should probably post something else

something off Stankonia? no, production style's wrong. Common? or it could be off Stankonia... I don't know. or it's Ghostface but that album only hit 7. and Common's only hit 5 on the hip hop charts.

actually, Wu Tang had an album in 2000. It might be that. Track? I dunno.

In Windows: Right-click on the file and choose "properties". Click on the tab "details". There are tags for songtitle, artist, album, etc... You can remove them there maually.
