As part of setting up the Challenge Schedule for 2019, we are releasing six polls where you can vote for options for 2019.

For the polls that ask which 2018 Challenges you would like see repeated next year, you will be able to vote for 6 options.

For the polls that ask which Challenges you would like to see in 2019 that were not run this year, you will be able to vote for 8 options. This number is higher than for the "repeated" polls since there are more options to choose between when it comes to deciding new Challenges.

Each of these polls will run for 31 days, finishing on the first Saturday in November (AU time).

Most underrated "genre" of them all.

Not my suggestion, though it was quite a popular idea on the discussion thread. Maybe vote for something else when you submit your choices?

Boys will be boys.

(Which is a term that really need to be retired)

It was covered by the grindhouse/explotation-challenge. Don't see the need to degrade the forum further.

I guess I'd take adult over sport if pushed to it, but I'll be happy if neither makes it. Plenty of adult-oriented stuff that would appear in a grindhouse and/or low ratings challenge and those are probably what I would watch if I took part in adult challenge anyway.

I mean I'm not "judging" (even though I personally agree with the stuff mentioned here) but the idea of everyone coming together and listing endless titles like "Big Wet Tits 3" is super weird. Just like....don't need to know that people are watching that.

Anyway, whatever, I won't comment any more.

   I almost choked (I was drinking something) when I read that. I don't know. We are a long way before Adult/Erotica gets passed as an option, and while it is performing well now (no pun intended), there's no guarantee that it will still be one of the most popular options in 30 days time. What I will say though that if the option does get passed, I be will concentrating on the 'Erotica' side of the label during that challenge - the stylish horror movies of Jean Rollin (and less stylish entries of Jess Franco) would surely come under that label.

I suppose, when I seconded BlueBoyBob's proposal, I primarily had in mind the work of people such as Metzger, Howard, Jaeckin and Borowczyk. In other words, people who imbued their projects with creativeness and artistry. I was not so much thinking of the films produced today.
That's all, folks!

There are way too many troll votes when talking about anything sexual, I can't ake anything about this seriously.

Wonderful options once again! I had to overlook Adventure, Prison and War due to the plentiful and promising delights on offer.

My votes went to:

1930s (l)
Adult/Erotica (l)
Biopic/Biography
Crime
Musical (l)
Rom-Com
Romance (l)
Suspense/Thriller (l)

Licking my lips at the prospect of some of these tumbling madly over the threshold!
That's all, folks!

Adult/Erotica
If the idea is to compare the merits of porn and erotic films, I don't support that to be an Official challenge either.

Seems the TV suggestion got lost somewhere in the mix. But then I'll just run an unofficial one all next year.

Good catch! Where is TV? It's not included in the Theme poll, either.

Poor catch. The TV option was put up to vote in the September preliminary theme polls, but did not perform well enough there to be carried over to voting this month.

From the theme voting thread:

N.B.: All preliminary challenge options that received at least 10 votes this year (and received at least 15 votes last year) have been carried into this final round of voting

As indicated above, the option certainly did not get "lost in the mix". But yes, by all means, albajos should run an Unofficial Challenge if he wants to see the topic go ahead.
