Last year we decided to start at sundown September 30th - which is what they do on DVDTalk - so I assume we want to continue that tradition. I'm probably going to be crap at updating the OP, I apologise in advance.

I just finished making my preliminary watchlist if anyone is interested: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls063876796/.

Count on me for participating. I never watch that much, but I just got Basket Case blurays, and there are a few giallows I want to watch.
Besides, this is one of my favorite challenges.

I wonder when will the wonderful TSZDT list is going to be official. And while we are at it, top 500 Horror movie list should be removed from official status.

The horror challenge attracts more people than any other challenge, doesn't it? It always heart-warming to see it happening.
I'll create a watchlist soon.

Definitely in, but I'm out of the country until October 9th and won't be able to watch anything until then. :( I'll make sure to overcompensate when I get back, of course.

Some people weren't happy last year with the inclusion of TV episodes, I think probably because they felt it was too easy to run up one's tally by watching a 45-minute episode as compared to, let's say, a typical 90 minute movie. Would it be worth switching the rules so that two 45-minute episodes counts as a single film? I don't care too much either way, personally, but figured some people still might. Any strong opinions on this?

I see no problem with it. There's a 45 minute cut off for feature films after all so it doesn't strike me as unfair.

There are a very limited number of features between 45 and 60 minutes, while there are a multitude of TV show episodes of that length. I don't care too much because I'm not going to be winning this challenge anyway but it does seem against the spirit, especially if that's the majority of what someone watches.

In. Don't care what the rules are; it's not about winning, it's about making it to the end alive.

I'm in, of course. I'll be armed with my Thrill-O-Meter again, and I hope other users will weaponize their special horror ratings, too, since (for most users) this quest overall is obviously less about seeing quality cinema and more about seeing things that chill, thrill and... some other thing that ends with -ill.

I'm 100% all in!

Also if be cool with just removing tv shows from the challenge completely. The last couple of challenges I've done were like that and it seemed to keep things more simple.

I think it's been on one watchlist or another for about ten years now. Just keeps falling through the cracks.

Of course I'm in. I had a child on the way last October and reached 200 during the challenge as part of a bargaining chip with my wife that, after the kid, I would never be able to pull off something that ridiculous again.

I'm still hoping to hit 100 features and 100 shorts, but I also have an 8 month old so we'll see. Glad I had a lot saved up from Cinemageddon before whatever they're still dealing with went down.

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
