My pleasure!

I saw this one in the Pacific Film Archive theater, a pretty worn BFI print with somewhat inadequate subtitles, but it was still an impressive film to me. Knowing that the Marcos regime was after the filmmaker because of his work didn't hurt. Fortunately his films have become more available recently, but many of them suffer from the Philippine climate and insufficient interest.

27. She's Gotta Have It (Lee, 1986). Not bad, not bad at all!

Final entry and final score for me is 27, one shy of the (gold) goal, but I'll get to it very soon (I have a stack of DVD's coming from the library). I've enjoyed it a lot, though as the month wore on, I started getting an itch for all the other movies that are out there, the Conquer the World movies in particular, so I'm looking forward to 'straying' from the list from now on.
Previously on 1001...
1. Exiles (Mackenzie, 1961).
2. Christ Stopped at Eboli (Rosi, 1979).
3. High School (Wiseman, 1968).
4. Come and See (Klimov, 1985).
5. The Ear (Kachyna, 1970).
6. Oklahoma! (Zinnemann, 1955).
7. Wake in Fright (Kotcheff, 1970).
8. The Draughtsman's Contract (Greenaway, 1982).
9. Do The Right Thing (Lee, 1989).
10. Drugstore Cowboy (van Sant, 1989).
11. Deep End (Skolimowski, 1970)
12. F For Fake (Welles, 1973).
13. The Ballad of Narayama (Imamura, 1983).
14. A Room with a View (Ivory, 1985).
15. The Man with the Golden Arm (Preminger, 1955).
16. The Spider's Stratagem (Bertolucci, 1970).
17. Red Psalm (Jancso, 1972).
18. Turkish Delight (Verhoeven, 1973)
19. India Song (Duras, 1975)
20. Say Anything... (Crowe, 1989).
21. Last Chants for a Slow Dance (Jost, 1977).

42. Masque of the Red Death (1962) - Snuck one in after the kid went to sleep last night, squeaking into the gold award. I kept thinking of Bill Heder any time Vincent Price spoke since his impression was my first exposure. Film was quite enjoyable though, especially the flaming gorilla.

Having spent years trying to get there (using 'Psycho' cover as set text.. but now realising 'Life of Pi' is the official target).. I fond myself in an odd position..
I just have one left - 'Song at midnight'..One I am looking forward to seeing.. one I expect to like... I even have it, sitting there on my shelf.. but cannot bring myself to do it..
No, I am not suspicious.. i do not expect to drop dead as the credits roll..
What is wrong with me?

Maybe you just need to figure out what to do next? Maybe you need to make it into an occasion?

If you need a "new" list to work on, I'd recommend the TSPDT Top 1000.

I'll revive this thread now by starting my own countdown for platinum: my 200 last unseen films in the 1001 MYMSBYD book. I am starting this while still finishing my TSPDT project, because of the nice even number. tehe

Anyone interested to join me on the hunt for plat before the next edition in October 2021? You are very welcome!

Here are the first six checks on my countdown:
200. Trop tôt / trop tard (1982)
199. The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976)
198. Pink Flamingos (1972)
197. Giulietta degli spiriti (1965)
196. Maynila sa mga kuko ng liwanag (1975)
195. Hôtel Terminus (1988)

I enjoyed all of these, but Giuilietta degli spiriti really won me over. An instant favourite. (l)

Since this thread has been moved to Past Challenges folder, I think that I'll start a new 1001 MYMSBYD challenge later, instead of doing the challenge here. Maybe I'll start it properly at the beginning of the year, like I originally planned it.
