For those who have access, this one is available on Hoopla - and I'm sure other places as well.

Just watched it and wasn't that impressed, mostly because the humor didn't work well for me. Yeah, like one really can't tell the difference between a clay bowl and a straw hat; a balcony and a closet (even when drunk); etc

Granted, the mirror scene was well done and has been redone a hundred times since. Not sure how much credit this movie deserves: willing to bet that someone did at least some version of the gag on Vaudeville.

But overall it's pretty much a product of the time and genre - a string of gags stitched around a simple plot. The print is in pretty good shape for a 100 year old movie, so there is that. Definitely worth the sixty-five minutes if only for the historical value (hysterical value may vary), but don't think I laughed once. But decidedly more enjoyable to watch (than listening to the neighbors bicker and scream at each other).

six stars and only recommended to those that are into silent era comedy.

Some decent gags. Not much else.

Echoing some of the opinions already stated, I thought this was a decent silent comedy. I didn't actually laugh once while watching this film, but the mirror gag scene was fun to watch. There were a few scenes that were a little too over the top for my taste.

Even if I've not been very positive about a couple recent films, I'm really glad they've been selected and we're watching them. Sure enjoying FotW! Thanks Cocoa! (and thanks to joachimt too for hosting before)
