Zero. The nearest movie theater is 50+ miles away. The nearest art house theater is around 75 miles away.
Personal film goals for 2019.

Slowed down considerably since early July - blockbuster season is always the worst season.

59. Beatriz at Dinner
60. Baby Driver
61. +The Big Sick
62. Lady Macbeth
63. +A Ghost Story
64. +War for the Planet of the Apes
65. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
66. -Atomic Blonde
67. Wind River
68. -Dunkirk
69. Ingrid Goes West
70. Good Time
71. +Close Encounters of the Third Kind (3rd theatrical viewing I think, 5th or 6th overall)
72. +Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (3rd or 4th theatrical viewing, about 9th or 10th overall)

As above

+ great or near great or potentially top 10-20 of the year
- crap, bad, severe disappointment, etc

Hmm checking back in again so soon? Sure, why not?

(July) The Beguiled
Spider-Man: Homecoming
King Kong (revival of '33 original)
War for the Planet of the Apes
The Big Sick
Dunkirk
Valerian & the City of a Thousand Planets
Atomic Blonde
Wish Upon
(August) A Ghost Story
Lady Macbeth
Detroit
Annabelle: Creation
The Glass Castle
Logan Lucky
Friday the 13th (80's original, at a drive-in. Mixed towards the film itself but it was a really fun experience.)
Wind River
(September) Good Time
Stephen King's It

Overall more consistent in terms of film quality than the first half (only one or two I'm lukewarm to negative towards, the rest generally positive) though we're working with an admittedly more limited time window and I've been a bit more wary of wasting my time/money on stuff that I might not enjoy all that much.

Still yet to see one. But I did sign up for MoviePass so hopefully I'll be able to see a couple a week once I get my card.

+ Dunkirk

They say it's a movie best experienced in cinemas. Well, I don't see it, but we have never had IMAX theatres here either (that showed regular movies) so maybe that is another experience.

Actually, I can only think of one film that I would recommend cienma: Lawrence of Arabia, and the beginning of 2001. (But I have been travelling and haven't slept all night - is there any others that HAVE to be seen in cinemas?)

I'd agree with those, and add Blade Runner, Andrei Rublev and Playtime, none of which I've seen on video since I saw them in the cinema. But then I'm still a strong advocate for the cinema experience as much as possible - though living where I do, I may never get to see some of these favorites again unless I give in and watch them on the small screen.

I just saw Dunkirk today. Maybe seeing it in a cinema saved it from being an outright dislike, but man, what a snoozer.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Logan
Split
Wonder Woman
Baby Driver
Dunkirk
The Shining (1980)
The Snowman
Blade Runner 2049
Thor: Ragnarok

So 10. If there are more they were extremely forgettable.

In 2018 I will focus more on Cinematek viewings. They have both surprise viewings of upcoming films (We don't know what it is when we buy the ticket) and the usual classic/thematic films.

OK, this is it. Didn't make it to 100 like I hoped to, but there just wasn't enough good stuff playing nearby, and I had neither the time nor energy to make as many 2-hour-round-trips to see more of the interesting things. Maybe next year...

Old films (10):
Spoiler: click to toggleShow
Demoiselles de Rochefort, Les/Young Girls of Rochefort (1967)
Ascenseur pour l'échafaud (1958) [Elevator to the Gallows]
Casque d'or (1952)

Un voyageur (2013)

Short films:
165 (including over 100 seen at a comedy festival, 2 end of the year school programs, and festivals)

Features (265):
Notes:
1) excuse the capitalization
2) if it says 2016 it's because I copied the data from IMDB-I saw these movies from January -December
3) The final number might be different, as I plan to see one more tonight.
4) I did not differentiate between regular theaters and festivals, as I write the theater name in my notes and it would take too long to separate
5) Let me know if you notice any errors like old movies mixed in with new movies. I triple-checked the list, but some may have slipped through the cracks.

Catching up with everything post-summer. As with the rest of the year prior, mostly solid with a handful of high points but also some stuff that's either just ok or entirely forgettable.

It
mother!
Goodfellas
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Flatliners
Battle of the Sexes
Blade Runner 2049
Professor Martson and the Wonder Women
Happy Death Day
Thelma
Jigsaw
The Foreigner
Thor: Ragnarok
Murder on the Orient Express
The Florida Project
Wonderstruck
The Killing of a Sacred Deer
Lady Bird
Coco
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri
Wonder
Suspiria
Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
The Shape of Water
Downsizing
The Greatest Showman

Man, if it wasn't for some of the pretty meh stuff (Kingsman, Flatliners, Jigsaw, The Foreigner, and The Greatest Showman), this entire run would've been completely satisfying from one end to the other.

I saw Incredibles 2 yesterday at the movie theater, so my total is now one film for this year.

Since my last post in this thread, a movie theater has (re)opened in my town. So I've been going once in a while, though not as often as I'd like, just to support the place. But I'd prefer to bring the kids (6 & 11) and that's not easy when they're showing horror movies, Marvel spectacles and R-rated movies. But I did go see:

1. Coco
2. The Shape of Water (no kids)
3. A Wrinkle in Time
4. Incredibles 2
5. Crazy Rich Asians (eldest only)
6. Smallfoot (youngest only)
Personal film goals for 2019.
