You can basically boil down the entire song to:
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Killing in the name of
Now you do what they told ya
You justify those that died
By wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
I guess you enjoy the vocal-free better thenEbbywebby wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2021, 9:28 pmIt's one of the most redundant, repetitive lyrics I've ever heard. You can basically boil down the entire song to:

Well, I can see that pull-tabs on cans is more convenient for the vast majority of people. I hadn't realized that they present a challenge for arthritic people (my own arthritis is only occasionally an issue with opening things). I'm guessing someone will come up with a gizmo that can flip up the pull-tab , "hook it" and pull it open, just like we see all those jar lid openers. But yes, it absolutely sucks when you can't open a can without going through some serious pain, assuming there's enough strength left to get the job done.3eyes wrote: ↑February 10th, 2021, 6:27 pm Speaking of security overkill (kill all the lawyers!)
Everything comes triple seniorproofed. Not one seal, not two, no less than three.
If it ain't broke, they fix it.
I have a nice arthritis-friendly can opener and now they've taken to making cans can-opener proof, putting pull-up rings on them instead.
In the good old days about 15 years ago I wrote an Hopkins-parody ode to little plastic hangers on new pairs of socks with the lines
I laud these lonely leftovers,
signs that no malign marketeer
has yet managed to make socks seniorproof.
Alas, now they have.
Thanks!!! (So how long will it take them to seniorproof that?)xianjiro wrote: ↑February 11th, 2021, 9:42 pm yes there is a gizmo to open pop/pull tops - I'll see if I can locate it
Walmart has this - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ring-Pull-Ca ... er&veh=sem
I just searched for "pull top can opener"

If my nails are long enough I can use them as well, but they usually aren’t.
No, I'm pretty bored of people dragging politics into everything though.

Too many cries for attention, the whole world has troubles and everyone wants his personal problems to be on everyone else's mind. So apparently going to public spaces and tagging your problem on whatever topic is hot right now has become acceptable under the guise of "everything is politics", even when it's usually just a "may contain traces of nuts" situation.
In this very, very noisy world, people need piece of mind and that's not easy when others make it hard to let people enjoy things that are meant as entertainment.
How many of your friends ended up in the hospital on respirators after having received the vaccine?
None
I edited my post:
I also don't know anyone who ended up in hospital on respirators after getting the virus. I'm 25 years. It's pretty much unlikely i'll get very sick if i get infected with COVID-19, so choosing between Astrozenica vaccine and getting COVID-19 is basically choosing between 100% sure of getting sick or like 15 to 20% sure getting sick (because right now around 15% of the world population had COVID-19 at some point they estimate).
It depends. Under certain circumstances (health worker, risk patient, they had excess vaccine, ...) it is possible, but those are mostly fringe cases. We're still working on the elderly nowadays.pitchorneirda wrote: ↑March 9th, 2021, 2:43 pm You can have the vaccine right now if you're 25 years old in Belgium? I thought the elderly had priority?
I'm very hesitant to believe case counts and death counts when they are distributed by an authoritarian one-party government with a very poor record of transparency, especially when those counts are absurdly low. For the same reason, I don't believe North Korea's claim that it hasn't had a single Covid case.Lakigigar wrote: ↑March 9th, 2021, 2:31 pm Also, Vietnam really does a great job. Only 35 deaths so far. Only around 1600/1700 cases for a country with almost 100 million citizens. And they don't screw up their numbers, because just check the GDP and what they did. They were one of the few countries to grow strongly in 2020. In terms of countries with biggest GDP they went from 35 to 23 (!!!) in ONE YEAR.
Soon, Vietnam will be the country i'll have to say has the best politics instead of Cuba, Costa Rica, Iceland and Finland if we continue like that.
Yes, i agree.blocho wrote: ↑March 9th, 2021, 5:59 pmI'm very hesitant to believe case counts and death counts when they are distributed by an authoritarian one-party government with a very poor record of transparency, especially when those counts are absurdly low. I think i'm going to take it anyway, esp. after i've heard rumours that you get sick with Pfizer and Modesta after the second injection, while with Astrozeneca it's after the first injection.pitchorneirda wrote: ↑March 9th, 2021, 2:55 pm Oh yeah Ok I think I just misread Laki, I first understood she was on her way to be vaccined, that she was at the center and then went back home, but that was not a literal U-turn I suppose
I'm not eligible yet. But i know people who are getting vaccinated close to me (health workers in this case). I've heard it from reliable sources (psychologists & nurses mostly, because i'm still a patient (but not inpatient, but yeah i have my sources), so that's why I had my concerns). Fact that almost half of them are suddenly sick because they got a vaccine yesterday... and esp. all the ones that had the Astrozeneca vaccine, says a lot.Onderhond wrote: ↑March 9th, 2021, 2:51 pmIt depends.
