I tweaked my list a bit over the weekend. When I posted last Friday it was unranked, now it is as follows:
1-22 RANKED, #23-150 Unranked.

Still struggling with time management these days, and worried I may not have time to put together a new list, so I'll put my old list in as a placeholder just in case (ranked):
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls076494816/
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls076494816/
List of 200, ranked: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls086350259/
Btw, regarding the scoring "Scoring for ranked lists: Half-life = 50", what does Half-life means? I am just curious about the scoring system since I am not familiar with it.

Every 50 movies the point value of that rank decreases by half (the values in between decrease appropriately).
So th 50th movie gets 50 points, the 100th gets 25 pts, the 150th gets 12.5 pts, etc.

Here's my list: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls076842254/
Updated and fully ranked. Don't think I'll have time to watch anything else before the deadline, though I was really hoping to get to Army of Shadows. Maybe on one of my layovers.
Went from 65 films to 150 films in the 5.5 years since the last poll, and I raised the threshold and deleted about 25 films from my list. Still so much to see. I'm at 199/250 on the current list, so we'll see how things change.

On the deadline!

For some reason I can't delete item anymore. Will try for another computer later (and cut it down to 100).
Will also do a sanity check with my yearly lists to see if anything is missing. The current one is a merger of the existing list (set up years ago) and my fairly updated top 500.

We really should put a full explanation of this in the Forum FAQ.PeacefulAnarchy wrote: ↑October 29th, 2020, 5:22 amEvery 50 movies the point value of that rank decreases by half (the values in between decrease appropriately).

In the second post. Maybe not the best one possible, but I haven't updated that in 3 years.

I'm not done with this yet, but it's done enough that I wouldn't freak if it was grabbed as is. I'll just keep working on it. I think it'll end up being about 175 films.

So for example: if i have a list of 250 films completly ranked, the 250 gets 3,125 points. What would be the result, if i rank just the top 100 and make the rest unranked? 101 to 250 would get all the same number of points, but how mutch?PeacefulAnarchy wrote: ↑October 29th, 2020, 7:29 pmThere is one: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2813joachimt wrote: ↑October 29th, 2020, 7:27 pmWe really should put a full explanation of this in the Forum FAQ.PeacefulAnarchy wrote: ↑October 29th, 2020, 5:22 am

Actually 251 (250 films after the first one) would get 3.125, but yes. The unranked portion would get the average of what the 101 to 250 would get if ranked. So your total points assigned would be the same either way.Gordon_Gekko wrote: ↑October 30th, 2020, 7:59 am So for example: if i have a list of 250 films completly ranked, the 250 gets 3,125 points. In this particular case it would be 10.59273648 for ranks 101-250.

Thanks for explanation! Then i will maybe switch to "particular ranked" cause felt a litttle bit - how to say - useless to mention the films at place 200 and further back.PeacefulAnarchy wrote: ↑October 30th, 2020, 8:28 amActually 251 (250 films after the first one) would get 3.125, but yes. I count 54 lists, can someone double check that number for me please? (When counting watch out, psychotronicbeatnik posted his link twice)

I probably will start downloading list some time tomorrow afternoon here in the Netherlands, which might give you a few hours more. But don't count too much on that.
