Could you make it so that the watchlist tab doesn't show checked entries? Or make checked/unchecked optional?
iCM already has that option. Just go to the miscellaneous settings page and check "Hide already seen movies on your watchlist."

Yeah, but I would like the same functionality on the watchlist tab on each individual list (the tab created by this script).

For those who aren't aware, there is a new version (1.4.9.3 experimental) that introduces a new feature that turns lists into this. This new version that I just uploaded fixes a few visual bugs, a chrome bug, and also lets you choose to either autoload large posters or load them manually via a link. Since it's still experimental if you choose the manual way you also have to enable upcoming awards list and random film link features because the link where you can load the large posters is created there.

As a reminder, it lazy loads images, meaning it won't load a large poster until it becomes visible so it's completely safe to open a large list and not worry about freezing and waiting.

EDIT: If you install with Chrome, I recommend using TamperMonkey since that's what I've used to test, and after you've installed the script, you must open the script via TM options page so that you're in the editor, then go to the settings tab and set Run at: document-end.

There is now a 1.5 version that has a re-designed configuration window system, including the large posters feature. The older 1.4.8 version is still there in case 1.5 doesn't work for you as I changed bits of it quite a lot. I also updated the first two posts with new screenshots...

I was wondering.. is it possible to have a script or something that can grab just the IMDb links from a page of films on iCM?

Run this in Scratchpad, but press Ctrl+L or Execute->Display. You'll get the URLs in the scratchpad window.

Code: Select all

var out = "";
jQuery(".optionIMDB").each(function(e){
    out += jQuery(this).attr("href") + "\n";
});
out;
I uploaded a new version of the script, 1.5.3. With this version the upcoming awards overview also works on your favorite/watchlist/disliked list pages.

edit: Oops, there appears to be a small bug that shows lists twice on the progress page. Skip this and wait for 1.5.3.1.

edit2: Fixed. 1.5.3.1 is available.

1.5.4 makes the list (un)hiding in upcoming awards overview slightly less annoying (it's much faster and doesn't jump back to the first list). It also moves the normal/compact view buttons back to their original place...

Would it be possible to grab genres from imdb and have them listed when I'm looking at a list? It would help out a lot when doing some of the movie challenges, since it isn't always apparent what genre(s) a title is.

Most of the official iCM lists are already on IMDb, and you can filter IMDb lists by genre.

1.5.5 has a pretty cool update. List cross-referencing now outputs this:

Image

And yes, you can download it in CSV format. It includes the number of toplists an entry was found on, title, year, number of official top lists and imdb url.

I haven't tried if the check button and the other features work though.

I think I wanted that to happen, but I also didn't mind if they were split up. It makes sense that they'd all be merged into one, though.

Because they're separated in the source list and when mjf made the lists it was agreed that they were better off separate. That way if you only want to focus on narrative films, or only on docs you can do that. Why do you want them merged?

It's just aggravating that they're split into six parts where it might Aswell as be one. To me, It seems very Unprofessional and seems like something that would be done by some amateur list maker on IMDB to make it more appealing. It's Important to me that the Lists on ICM are professionally made, Otherwise it leads me to question whether or not I'm wasting my time watching movies for the joy of pressing a button. And I don't want that to happen. :(

I don't understand. The lists are separate in the source. They weren't split to make it more appealing, they were already split and kept that way so that you can concentrate on the individual categories. The only two I think should be merged are the narrative and hollywood genres sections. Having Docs, animation, experimental and video as separate lets you look for interesting things for each category rather than one huge dump of films.

I think iCM changed their site CSS stylesheet so if you used those custom favorite/watchlist/disliked colors the icons next to the checkbox in lists had a forced green background color. 1.5.7 fixes that.

And if I remember correctly (it's been a while since I changed it) this version also saves all the previous cross-references so you can see the results for them even if you cross-reference different lists multiple times. Not sure why I didn't upload it earlier...

Can there be a fix/update for the Netflix script? As an example, this list http://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/acade ... +nominees/

there's an issue with some movies, like The Accidental Tourist, where it still shows as being available aka the N is red, but the date shows it stopped being available last Halloween.

I also noticed in Chrome that Chocolat shows as being available but it's from date is a couple years from now. Firefox is working fine in showing it as not available yet.

My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown also shows at not available but it is. I'm assuming it's because on Netflix, the title is just "My Left Foot".

On the Favorite/Watchlist/Disliked list pages you should see the Activate CR button. After clicking it you can select any number of lists by clicking them (they should turn gray). After you've selected your lists click the Cross-reference tab (it's created after you've selected at least two lists) and then click the Cross-reference button. The script goes through all the lists to find what films they have in common and displays them below the lists. Note that there's two modes you can change in the configuration: 1) Only find titles that appear on every list 2) Find titles that appear in at least n lists. You may want to change the default value of 2 depending on how many lists you want to cross-reference.

edit: I can't remember which mode is the default mode, so check the configuration if you're not getting any results.

Yeah, make sure you have the latest versions of everything - Chrome, TamperMonkey and the script itself. Restarting the browser/PC is always a good idea :)

edit 2: nevermind, it worked now :pinch:

I'm using Black Canvas Script Handler and Chrome but some features of your script are not showing up, such as upcoming awards on fav lists page.

I wanted to try Tampermonkey instead. I tried disabling BCSH and installing the script with Tampermonkey (which I reinstalled) but when I try clicking the script's latest version link nothing happens. I downloaded and moved it inside the window to no avail. Next, to the dumb question: how can I install it?

edit: thanks ^_^

Actually I noticed cross-referencing feature not working properly (cannot get the cross-referencing button to pop up) on latest Chrome versions with Tampermonkey, they do work fine in FF and Greasemonkey.

What kind of page is it? If you mean an iCM list, you can just export it. If you mean the charts page, you can use my icmchartreader program.

Edit: I noticed in the other thread you wanted to make a list of all official checks, so yeah, you'll want to use the icmchartreader program for that.

Use this URL: http://www.icheckmovies.com/charts/movi ... altoplists

Tell the program to read through 388 pages. You'll have 14 extra films at the end that you'll have to remove.

It was just all films sorted by official top lists. It looks like your chart reader thing will be easier for me than the original thing I used though :thumbsup:

How does this ICMchartreader work. I downloaded the zip. After extracting I got another archive. After extracting I got a .class file and a .mf file inside a folder called META-INF. How do I run the program.

I'd like to export my unchecked titles from the Rosenbaum-list.

It's a Java program so you need to have Java installed, and then you should be able to run the .jar file (I put it inside a .zip file because this forum didn't let me attach a .jar file).

You can't export only the unchecked titles because after filtering by unchecked, the page source still includes every film. What you could do is sort by check date so that the checked films are listed first followed by the unchecked films.

You can use this URL: http://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/jonat ... =checkdate

It worked. Is there an easy way to change this to titles and year of release? Other than creating an IMDB-list and exporting from there...

The thing is:
I've got a spreadsheet of the Rosenbaum-list, which contained 1080 titles, the same as on ICM. However, I've got one check more on ICM than in my spreadsheet. I thought I just forgot a title, but I just found out I listed Tavaszi zápor (1932) as a Rosenbaum-title which isn't the case on ICM. SO now I've got 1079 in my spreadsheet and I want to find the missing title. The spreadsheet only contains original title and year of release.

The easiest way would be for me to just export the iCM list for you: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxCbA3x ... w0VzQ/edit

Sort by the checked column. Then sort only the checked films by title. Then sort the other list by title, put both lists in adjacent columns, and scroll down until you see something that doesn't match. Of course, this will only work if both lists use the same titles. Otherwise it'll be more difficult.

SanderO helped out already. He offered to figure it out. He found the missing title ("Marie, legende hongroise", read the Rosenbaum-thread about that one), he found some flaws in the info in my spreadsheet and he found the differences between my checks on ICM and my notes in the spreadsheet.

Thank you both for helping!

This script does in three seconds what I would spend close to an hour doing each month to cross reference the 1001 TSBYD and whatever the challenge list was. Is there a way to send a thank you, and maybe a large bag of candy?
