And I'll end with something obscure. Just barely over 300 views on Youtube. This Dutch band made one album in the 90's. I still think it's an amazing album.

Motherless Child is a classic, but I'd never heard this version before. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

One of my favorites.. I actually prefer the 8 minute version to the 4 minute radio edit because of the long build-up. It's a beautifully dark song.

This song was inspired by the murder of a 10-year-old boy by a cop in New York City in 1973. The cop got away with it, of course.

I just started watching Buena Vista Social Club, btw. Pure coincidence. It was the next things on my MUBI-watchlist before it expires.

I barely listen to any Spanish music, but i heard this song many times in Panama a couple years ago and it stayed forever in my mind. It also happens to have an adorably cheesy video with a lot of barefoot dancing and passionate gestures.

Also, in case anyone is organizing an underground car racing or fight club and needs a badass soundtrack :P

I prefer these Dream Police:

And that's not the only dream-centric song David Byrne has done. It's a bit of a theme for him:

Plus, this excellent collaboration between Byrne and Caetano Veloso:
