If I remember correctly, you can cancel Z-targeting by pressing down+Z.

I made a gomoku game in JavaScript: https://gomoku.mjf314.repl.co/

It's like tic-tac-toe, but on a 19x19 board, and you have to get 5 in a row to win.

I'll do my best to do my zelda video by February 21. This means I have 18 weeks and 3 days to complete it. Of course I can't do it the days I work so that gives me 93 days. I have the following to beat:

Spirit Tracks
A Link Between Worlds (in progress)
Tri-Force Heroes (in progress but literally torture)
Majora's Mask
Four Swords Adventure
Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link
Link's Crossbow Training
Skyward Sword (in progress)
Breath of the Wild
Hyrule Warriors
Zelda: Wand of Gamelon
Legend of Zelda: Game and Watch
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

I also have to do season 2 of BS Zelda for 60 fps footage, same with Minish Cap (halfway done) and Oracle of Seasons. I also have to play Ocarina of Time 3DS and its Master Quest version, and Majora's Mask 3D.

Probably 3 weeks to edit highlights and write my script, 2 weeks to film my footage (I will show myself), and 2 weeks to edit the final video. 11 weeks to do 19 games. This also includes playing other games to keep some activity for my channel. :/ yea I probably can't do it lol, but worth a shot and it won't be the end of the world if I don't make it for the 35th anniversary. The only problem with that is that it might be like the Mario 35th anniversary and I'll have to play some remasters.

Here's my question for now: I have found an asset pack for editing that comes with a lot of packages. The beginning of my video will be me acting as hipster as possible, talking about how I love all this high art stuff and name dropping things, but then I'll say that even a pretentious hipster like me loves the zelda series, and then the ranking will start (with a costume of course).

Which filter would be best for this intro? 70s grindhouse style, 40s movie style, or 60s Godard style? Should I maybe just film all 3 and then make an unlisted video for you guys to compare?

"The Loyal Sage character was also a priest in the Japanese version, and his Sanctuary was intended to be a church."

Actually the first thing that sprung to mind. The stained glass windows make it looks like a church. That's at least something I link to Christianity.

I thought, hmm, if they can price it around two hundred bucks it might have a shtto at survival. $400 , n ochance.

If anything is going to break through as a new competitive consoel itss going to be appletv w/ a beefed up apple arcade once they start popping AAA titles to go with ther indie-centri c catalogue they curerntly have . gamers are older than ever (teens and younger are only the third largest demo now) and so a youth friendly alternative to console gaming that's a step up from the current mobile gaming exerience has a shot at gabbing a decent market share.

i will say i almost want to bur n my money on that atari just bc nostalgia.

Review is almost 5000 words long, and took 25 hours to edit my "highlighted clips". Gonna start on it tomorrow and hope I finish it the same day. It's gonna be a bit less than 30 minutes long, but maybe even longer depending on the clips I show.

Hey PH, watched your review for Euro Truck Simulator 2 since it's in my Steam library (untouched as of yet). You've gotten way more conversational and natural sounding, which is awesome.

Just got done the original Demon's Souls ...

Image
Image
Image

Inspired, of course, by the release of the PS5 remake, I finally digitally downloaded the janky, early and flawed Souls game (albeit one with its own passionate cult following). They say your first Souls game is your hardest, but that wasn't really the case here, as overall I found this to be the most frustrating of the three I've played (played Dark Souls 1 and 2). Where I felt I could play 1 and 2 through without farming for levels, in Demon's it felt absolutely necessary (for a player of my skill level, at least...which I guess is low). At times this replaces the mood of Lovecraftian/cosmic horror and dread with pure boredom. It also didn't help I picked up the game years after all the servers were shut down, and there were no helpful messages from other players or summons. With or without other players, you essentially need to look up online guides to understand critical game features (f.e. world tendency and character tendency). But the biggest problem is just how janky it is, especially with camera and being able to see what's going on in the game's (numerous) tight spaces.

Still I can see why it became an instant cult classic in 2009. If this had been my first Souls game, I probably would have loved it. The good (combat), the great (voice acting, writing, level design) and the masterful (art direction, environmental storytelling, monster design, atmosphere and horror aspects) outweigh the frustrating parts overall. And with the Old King the game adds 1 other classic boss fight to the Soulsborne roster.

From footage, the Bluepoint remake looks stunning and at least seems like it fixes that last issue (and just improves overall playability). Which gives it the potential to be one of the 'great games.'

...

Oh and a couple months back I played Uncharted 1 and 2. They were kinda fun, not sure if 2 in particular lived up to the hype surrounding it. High expectations will do that, I guess (but I also had high expectations for The Last of Us, and it not only met but far, far surpassed them).

Also I also played Red Dead Redemption. I liked the song when you enter Mexico. It was depressingly homophobic. That is all.

A lie ain't a 'side of the story.' It's just a lie.

This isn't exactly a game, but I made a tool that lets you draw fractals: https://fractal-maker.mjf314.repl.co/

You can draw lines or polygons, and then specify where you want them to be drawn recursively (if you want to see examples, click the links in the lower right corner).

About 5 years ago I started playing Alan Wake, but I got to a part that was too hard and I could never get past it. I tried multiple times over the years and couldn’t do it. But I decided I was determined to finish the damn game a few days ago and I just completed it. I was so frustrated at times when it was ridiculously difficult. Turns out I was playing on hard mode the whole time. Dunno how because I am noob and always choose normal. But I got the hard mode achievement when I finished it and was like whoa. So that’s kind of cool. Some of the gameplay was interesting but too many almost impossible onslaughts made it difficult to enjoy and I wish there were more puzzles rather than waves of enemies. The dialogue and story was also mega meh.
