In some topics the OP is repeated on the top of every page. Is it a clear choice when it is and when it isn't? In only a few cases I think it's handy to have the info from the OP on top, but in a lot of cases I think it's rather annoying.

I've noticed that too, I don't know why it is. I think it might be a subforum setting, since it seems to only happen in some subforums and consistently in those.
It happens when a new forum section is created e.g. "our lists" and when I put the "music etc." section back. The default settings are to have the first post on every page (which I think is really annoying). Changed a couple of them now; let me know if you notice any sections that still display the first post on every page.joachimt on Mar 18 2017, 01:53:00 PM wrote:In some topics the OP is repeated on the top of every page. 24 seconds? I never had to wait that long. I sometimes get this message and need to wait a few seconds, but I've never seen anything above 20.The frequency of posting is limited to prevent abuse. Please try again in 24 seconds.

Is there any way to embed a tweet?

you mean other than doing a screen print and dropping that into a post? I going to try something from this link
[doHTML]<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">How can one of the most educated people in the world, elect and put up with such a Numpty? <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/DonaldTrump ... ldTrump</a> Unreal. I've met brighter 1st grades</p>— Vito tweeto Rausa (@RausaV) <a href=" 5, 2017</a></blockquote>
[/doHTML]
okay - didn't seem to work, but that link is Zetaboard's answer to how this should work.
Don't know why the [doHTML] tags don't work.
Could it be a icmforum setting?

I did make a screenshot for what I wanted to post, but embedding tweets looks a bit nicer. I've looked at several other zetaboards, but it seems like something each forum sets up on its own, some have [twitter][/twitter] functions, others use the "code" function, and so on, it depends. I tried all of them, but none worked (unless I screwed up in following the rules properly), so I don't think it's a surprise that the way you've found didn't work on here either.xianjiro on Jun 6 2017, 05:56:21 AM wrote:you mean other than doing a screen print and dropping that into a post? Anyway, it doesn't matter, someone more well versed can look into this, but I'm not going to bother. Your second link, xianjiro, looks helpful though.

yeah, I'm leaning towards it being something each board needs to incorporate, but that's based on very little information. Adam or Mighty would probably need to weigh in - or maybe one of the mods knows enough of the ins, outs, and repeats of this board to comment
I've read some things about it when I stumbled upon this thread yesterday, but it seems like the admins need to change some settings indeed.
Edit: so if I'm not mistaken, they have to enable the use of html, or they have to add some code to the existing BBCode - maybe both.

The admins would have to add some specific code to make it work. Not sure how hard that is, but it's slightly more than just clicking a yes/no checkbox.
I just spend five minutes searching for a topic of only six weeks old, in General Film Discussion. Could you guys please reconsider adding sub-forums for Short of the Day, Film of the Week etcetera? Would be nice.

I'd say anything that's a week old for the short of the day and a month old for the film of the week.
My father didn’t have the skill of a professional cameraman. The result? Avant-garde cinema.

I agree. I would also add any Which Films Did You See that's a month old as well. Some kind of archive subforum would make things much more organized.XxXApathy420XxX on Jul 9 2017, 03:14:48 PM wrote:+1!Gershwin on Jul 9 2017, 03:00:36 PM wrote:I just spend five minutes searching for a topic of only six weeks old, in General Film Discussion. I agree about the subforum for FOTW and SOTD. Not sure about the what did you see threads, I don't think they clutter things up too much.
The frequency of the what did you see threads is slightly higher than FotW, so it makes sense to archive them as well.PeacefulAnarchy on Jul 9 2017, 06:23:24 PM wrote:I agree about the subforum for FOTW and SOTD. Just discovered this thread (I never check out the off-topic lounge nor the active topics).
It seem strange to me that this thread (and the welcome to new members and a few others informative ones) are buried in the 6th of 7 forums on this board. Most other boards I've seen have an intro/info forum with all the important information for users and a mini guide for new members. Often you can't post anything new there, but it saves having to search around the board for key info. Maybe we can set this up here?

I think it is part of the Zetaboards design - not being able to delete, that is.

That must look very weird but if that's how you delete around here I'll keep it mind.

Yeah, afaik, it's part of how zetaboards work. People usually just delete the contents of their posts and I usually just delete empty posts and duplicates when I come across them (for some reason moderators can delete posts, authors can't. I don't get it either).fear of 13 on Nov 4 2017, 11:09:23 AM wrote:That must look very weird but if that's how you delete around here I'll keep it mind.
Is there actually a way to search for specific words within one topic or filter one user's posts from one topic? I thought I remembered seeing that once, but I can't figure out how it might be done.
If you click on Replies for a topic you get a list with all the users that posted in that topic. You can then click a specific user to see all his/her posts in that topic.

Okay. Thanks.

Cool, thanks. That's what I was looking for indeed.
Is it just me, or did the "Active Topics" link disappear?

Hmm this appears to be because that "Active Topics" link is using tricky scripting that was not hosted by zetaboards, and thus blocked by uMatrix.weirdboy on Nov 21 2017, 02:03:08 PM wrote:Is it just me, or did the "Active Topics" link disappear?
So this begs the question, why is that using offsite hosting? Where does all that information go besides zetaboards?

It doesn't seem to use offsite hosting, the script is right in the html code. I don't know why that link needs a script though, it's just a static link generated in a convoluted manner by the script. What script do you think it is?
I dunno if you are looking at the source via developer tools or "view source" but I think that script is inserted into the HTML dynamically, because uMatrix blocks it even being inserted (and the subsequent execution, which adds the link) if I turn it on.

I was just using view source. I don't have a script blocker installed. Does it tell you what script is blocked? In any case it's just convoluted coding, it doesn't gather or send any info.
