I was expecting it to be more like a time trial with all riders going at it at the same time. The time trial specialists actually didn't deliver and Roche was a surprise.
Apparently the program includes benefits for "taking a wheel", hence the group formations.

It seems that I've never posted this "poem" I wrote in Saint Petersburg a long time ago, when I was studying the Russian language. We had just learned about metrical foots, including the amphibrach.

Fantastic edition of the Strade Bianchi which is rapidly becoming one of the best one-day races on the calendar. Only 42 riders managed to finish the race.
Bardiani, Movistar and Sunweb had nobody finishing the race today.

Annemiek van Vleuten destroys the competition again. She still hasn't lost a single race this year. :run:

Groenewegen knows exactly what happens if you crash at 80 km/h and he pushed Jakobsen anyway. Groenewegen should not be allowed anywhere near a bike for the rest of his life. Hopefully Jakobsen and the photographer can somehow survive this. :(

for sure MvdP will show up but it might be too much climbing for him. Van Aert will probably join his Tour teammates in the Dauphiné, so no Lombardia for him.

FFS Remco crashed and fell into a ravine. Can he recover? Certainly going to be out for a while. Bummer.

Sad to see plastic trash in that ravine.

Yeah, season's over most likely. Anyone else have the feeling there have been many more crashes than usual? Maybe it's just a false impression because of the quick succession of races, but with both Jakobsen's and Evenepoel's horrifying crashes, and also D. Martin, Buchmann, Kruijswijk, Schachmann and many more all falling out (all in just the last 10 days!), I've already seen my share of crashes this season.

Edit: forgot to mention Leemreize, who almost lost his finger in Burgos. Yuck!

Remco has suffered a pelvic fracture and his right lung is perforated

I mean, I'm not sure you can recover at all after what, a 10m fall?

btw people have lived through barely softened falls of up to 60m

The Dauphiné is a warm-up race is what's going on. And Pinot can't even win it... such a frustrating rider to root for, why did you lose your cool man, you could have done it!

Love how they've finally decided to start penalizing irregular sprints.

Teams also competing to stay covid-free, interesting.
