If anyone has the address of his family (but I guess not), I really like to send a postcard to express my sympathy. If not, I hope they get to read this thread one day:
To Rok's family and friends:
"I'm so sorry to have heard the news of your loss. Rok was a great member of our community and it was always a pleasure talking to him. He was such a nice guy, always willing to help. I have good memories of the things we did together, helping each other with finding films, making subtitles. Always a pleasure.
Please know he won't be forgotten. I will certainly miss him and I'm sure he will be in the hearts and minds of this community for a long long time. I hope you can find the peace and strength to deal with this devastating loss and carry on with your life. Remember, Rok was loved all over the world."

The forum will not be the same without him. Rip

Thanks you Adam for this thread. I would like to express condolences to any family members and/or friends that might be possibly reading this. This news came as a massive shock to the entire community here. Rok was a valued member who was always a pleasure to talk to. We will all miss him greatly.
Rest in peace, Rok. You will be missed.
So sad. I don't think I've been this broken up over the death of someone I really didn't know personally. He was a genuinely nice guy.
I'm going to miss Rok, his movie knowledge and his interesting recommendations. Rest in peace.

It's always difficult when someone who isn't even old enough to have really lived suddenly dies.
If Rok had been a "flake", someone who came across as crazy or unstable, it would probably be less of a shock to me, but he always seemed very pleasant, thoughtful and reasonable. I'm having a hard time reconciling that with what happened yesterday. People are complex creatures and we don't always show all our facets, even when we're obscured by the (relative) anonymity the Internet affords us, but it still seems like such an incongruous thing to me. I cannot claim to understand it, I'll have to settle for accepting that it happened.
I hope that Rok has found what he was missing.
Requiescat in pace.

That's so sad.
21 is such a young age. RIP

We will miss you Rok.
RIP
I don't have anything more to say... I never thought that the death of someone I do not know very well would affect me this much.

May he rest in peace.
It's really sad that he won't be among us anymore. It such a shame that he is taken away from this world at the age of 21.
Rest in peace, Rok.
Rest in peace, Rok.
I had seen 99 out of his top 100 films, so today I watched Ko to tamo peva to complete the list in memory of him. RIP Rok.

Thanks for reminding us, Joachim!

Rok, we miss you.
Feels like a long time ago. Yes, Rok won't be forgotten. Wish he was still here now.
Dammit, Rok. Still sucks seeing you gone.

It's exactly one year ago this evening that we were in doubt of what happened. I feel sick thinking about it again.
As a reminder of Rok, tonight I'll watch the highest movie of his favorites list that I haven't seen.

It was such a tragedy, much more disturbing for me personally than when old relatives dying. Probably due to identification. Continue to RIP Rok
. His favorites list is really solid and seems to reflect his tragic outlook on life. I'll also see the highest unseen; Dogville; in the next couple of days. I have been wanting to revisit The Seventh Continent for awhile so I might do that as well.

Yes it is really sad. However the highest one I have not seen is The Seventh Continent by one of my most disliked Directors so am not in a hurry to see that. But the next highest one is Fehérlófia (1981) so I am happy to watch that soon instead. There are 30 on his favourites I have not seen.Dolwphin on Sep 12 2014, 07:50:29 PM wrote:It was such a tragedy, much more disturbing for me personally than when old relatives dying. Is always harder when someone young dies. We are prepared for our elders to die but a 21 year old? That's just...unnatural.Dolwphin on Sep 12 2014, 07:50:29 PM wrote:It was such a tragedy, much more disturbing for me personally than when old relatives dying. Probably due to identification. 9/11, historically a very important date for obvious reasons. For me it's the memory of burying my mother last year on this date. But it's also the date that Rok left us in 2013. For the rest of my life this date will be full of memories for me.
Rok is still in my thoughts. Please take a moment to remember him.

Thanks for the post Joachim. Three years now; hard to believe.
Rok will never be forgotten on here. Every time there is the 500<400 poll and the favourite movies poll and I post his list, it makes me feel happy that he'll always be remembered at least in the lists.
I wish the "something personal I'd like to share with you" thread had been on here earlier. Maybe Rok would have reached out to us and someone could have helped him. I just hope he got some positives from posting on here as he seemed to enjoy being here. Hopefully that gave him some comfort in his suffering.
